I am currently at 17 years in the National Guard, with 8 years of active duty included in the time. Currently a traditional drilling guardsman. I am also rated at 90% (likely soon be at 100%) by the VA. Largest rating is 70% for PTSD (combat related) and 50% for sleep apnea. 20% for a shoulder injury and 3 ten percent ratings. Long story short, I fucked up, am getting administratively discharged for drug use. I started going to mental health around the same time I got caught for the drug use and am just now getting my mental evaluations and appointments. I ended up getting diagnosed with severe recurrent major depressive disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. My therapist also wants me to continue to be evaluated for bipolar disorder. Hello all, I’m active duty Navy (5 yrs commissioned + 4 at USNA). Been diagnosed with GAD, MDD, PTSD, and Bipolar 1 from civilian outpatient providers. Last year, I left an in-patient hospitalization stay AMA (I was voluntarily admitted) then successfully attended a daily outpatient program. After a few months, the outpatient program referred me to a different in-patient facility where I was voluntarily admitted but again, I left AMA. Hey guys, I was Diagnosed with Combat PTSD, MDD, and Anxiety problems. On Dec 11, 2023 I received my Permeant profile for Depression. Then I was referred to the MED board, but I haven't gotten a call or anything for the next step and its Dec 31, 2023. Just going to assume it's because of the holidays. I’m about to be referred to the IDES process and mental health will be one of the conditions. I’m only seeing civilian docs because I’m in a “remote location.” Anyway, I asked my psychiatrist to fill out a DBQ for me and she was more than happy to oblige. I know that for vets filing regular VA claims after service, a DBQ from a private doc is accepted and that the person can get rated off that DBQ alone. How would this play out with the IDES system?
