Theistic Evolution vs Genesis Creation. Which is true? And why!

The overwhelming majority of people on earth today, who identify as Christians, believe that evolution is real and is happening but that it was originally set in motion by God. The Roman Catholic Church plus ALL of the main line Protestant denominations support or accept theistic evolution. Pope Francis - “The theories of evolution and the Big Bang are real and God is not a magician with a magic wand, both scientific theories are not incompatible with the existence of a creator – in fact... Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18. they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not... Reader, Lets say that a young mother ......is not born again, and they have 6 young children. She is 25 yrs old, and her husband left her, after #6 was yet to be born. Two of the Children are Twins., the boys...... and 4 are little girls. 'Mary" is dirt poor and on food stamps....and the children are dressed in rags, none of them are over 6, and often they are barefoot in the winter. So, on one side of Mary, is a Christian family, who believes that if they are starving (and so are their 3... Read more ..read more

The scariest passages in scripture

God is merciful, loving, kind, caring, good, righteous and just Psalm 136:1, 1 John 4:8, Job 34:12, Psalm 145:17. There are some verses that Christians truly need to dig deep on in order to defend Him as just and righteous. As indeed He is just and can be defended as such. Job says it is unthinkable that God would do what is evil or pervert justice in Job 34:12. There are scriptures that warn of justice equating to a very harsh punishment. A terrifying punishment. It does... Read more ..read more

First and foremost, you have to believe in Jesus. Without Jesus, no one goes to heaven. So, everything else here, depends on that first. This is an absolute must. No way around this one. There have been plenty of discussion about what believing in Jesus means here on TalkJesus. Does it simply mean I believe there was a guy named Jesus who walked around 2,000 years ago? Or does it mean more, does it mean believing He is the Son of God, that He died and rose again. That He lived a... Read more ..read more

To do works or not to do works, that is the question.

There are certain Christian denominations who take this "not saved by works" a little too far. I agree we are not saved "by" works. Nobody can work their way into heaven. No one gets saved without Jesus. But having said all that, are no works at all required? Even if they aren't required, is doing good deeds a bad thing? Some denominations talk about the dreaded "works" so much, they scare people from doing anything useful for God. Eph 2:8; For by grace you have been saved through... Read more ..read more

Is it ok for Christians to say "NO"?? I've been in ministry for over a decade. If I could have just convinced some folks BEFORE some decisions they made that it is more than ok to say "NO" -it would have saved them all A LOT of trouble. I could fill up this page with stories and times the word NO has saved me from untold trouble. Any stories you have about how the word NO has "saved" you? If I get any decent stories/feedback, I would like to use them for further articles... Read more ..read more
