Found a nice Marlin 925

Picked up a great condition 925 in .22LR at my local gun shop for $175 plus tax. It’s a 2007 manufacture. Cleaned it up, lubed it, torqued the action screws and headed out to the range. I had a fiber optic front ramp sight in spare parts and that really helps my sight picture. I like to leave the factory rear sight for quick change, no-tools needed elevation adjustments. Has about a 4 lb trigger, but it’s clean and crisp. The gun seems to shoot really good. Very happy to add this one to the... Found a nice Marlin 925 ..read more

Talk Me Out of Buying a Tippmann M4

I have a 10/22. Basic wood stocked model. I’ll admit I’m finding it a bit boring. The last three times I’ve been at my LGS, I keep checking out the Tippmann. I am not an AR guy. I’ve put maybe a couple hundred rounds through an AR and an M16 total. But I can’t help but think I ought to know how to run one. And I just like the Tippmann, it’s cool. I’ve got a couple scopes and red dots I could try on it. I’ve got thousands of rounds of .22. It’s CT so I can only get 10 round mags and... Talk Me Out of Buying a Tippmann M4 ..read more

Forget the .22lr autos failures to feed and.....move on to .22lr revolvers ????

As I read pages and posts and my own postings on getting 22lrs to function in these autos it brings me back to the S&W63 that I gave to one of our sons when he went off to college. I had a PD armorer do a sweet sweet trigger job on it and it was super smooth, and it could be shot accurately by many. That 63 and all of the other 22lr revolvers I have, mostly SA, would fire dang near anything and everything all the time without fail. There would be an occasional dud, but that was the rub of... Anyone ever had trigger work done on smith 617?

I have one on layaway. I will want to lessen trigger pull when I get it and maintain reliability. Swapping out springs may work for pull. An apex mass driver may help for ignition. Any good combos out there? What spring weights are solid ..read more

LCRx 3” 22 LR

I spotted a Ruger LCRx 22 LR revolver in the display case at a LGS. I’ve been wanting another Double Action 22 LR revolver. This LCRx was very lightly used but the previous owner had added an XS yellow Glow Dot front sight and blue Hogue grips. The price was good and I picked it up yesterday. I really like this revolver and I don’t think the previous owner fired more than a couple of cylinders through the revolver. This revolver has a 3” barrel and it came with the original sight... 1989 Browning Buckmark

Found this 1989 vintage Buckmark at my local gun store for $275. Like new condition as far as wear goes, but cosmetically neglected. I’ve cleaned up a bit of surface rust and it looks good now. An elder man who had 300-400 guns in storage passed and his family had them on consignment. It wasn’t stored particularly well, but it’s been cleaned up, lubricated and is shooting well. I’ve always had Rugers but I’m sure liking this Buckmark ..read more

Glock G44 trigger upgrade?

For any quasi-Glocksmiths such as myself who may be thinking... " I bet I can improve this trigger pull on this G44 by putting in a Ghost 3.5 trigger kit".... Save your money. Been there and done that. The Ghost 3.5 trigger connector is TWICE as thick as the stock connector and the pressure it takes to reset it affects the slide and makes it very hard to rack. But the trigger pull WAS sweet...A Ghost 3.5 connector of proper OEM stock metal gauge thickness would work. Never shot it, but it... Glock G44 trigger upgrade ..read more

I have used the interfamilial transfer before to gift an LCP to my mother in California, but as the magazine holds under 10 rounds, it was no worries! Well, my Dad & brother really enjoyed shooting my Kel-Tec PMR30…as they don’t even make a 10 round mag for it, I would likely be unable to gift it to them, correct ..read more

Interesting idea. If you can be right at the speed of sound, you can use it to your advantage, and cut your standard deviation roughly in half. But it's tricky, because the speed of sound is not static, it is dependent on temp and other factors ..read more

Does anyone have one of these? Found one in my Local Gun Store (LGS) for $650 OTD. Reviews online seem very promising, and thinking about offloading one of my customized 10/22's in favor of this, but hoping to get some more real-world feedback before I take the plunge. Thanks ..read more
