Can anyone help me find where i can find info on the years the model 1297 were made? Are these models rare and valuable? I have saw a few that look similar but not the same. Mine has 20^ bbl stainless. Walnut stock with the Ruger logo. Think its the 50th anniversary TALO. Can not remember what year i bought it. Pretty sure i paid over $300.00 for it back when most rifles were a couple hundred. Thanks ..read more

I have come across a Ruger MK IV Hunter for sale. I find this blue version, 5.5" barrel and wood grips very, very attractive. I understand it is a Talo edition. I'm tempted to purchase it. I believe the model number is 40177. Any thoughts, insights, from owners of this pistol? Is it worth 599.99, plus tax ..read more

I have a 1972 Ruger Standard RST6. When I had it broken down for cleaning and maintenance, I could NOT locate a number for the frame under the grips. Frame/Grip model ID for a 1972 Standard RST6? Where would I locate the information on this model. I will take it down later this weekend for a FP install and a test. I asked around and I get multiple answers locally. Looking at some older threads too. Anyone have an idea ..read more

Forgive me, but this may be a long post, but the explanations are necessary. I was able to hit the range Tuesday. Weather was absolutely great in the morni g, work was slow (I'm always on call), and I needed to do some testing and keep up the practice with a .22lr rifle. I hit the rifle range first. The expected afternoon winds would have caused troubles shooting. I shoot this old Marlin 60 with iron sights at steels. 100 yards offhand standing. I started off a bit slow, got in the... Is it the GUN or the AMMO?

Just got a new MK4 22/45, read the manual, and went to the range with 4 different ammo types. I fired 10 rounds of each into 4 different targets (all on the same paper) from about 15 yards. The first round went well. Some cartridges were more on target than others but nothing sucked. When I reloaded the 4 mags with the same ammo in the same order on a fresh target, the results were quite different. Nothing changed from the first 60 rounds to the second sixty rounds other than it was 20... Is it the GUN or the AMMO ..read more

I have a new LCR-22 that I bought last weekend and put about 150 rounds of different ammo types through it without any kind of concern.Wiped down well but did not completly clean.I loaded it with some CCI Velocitor ammo that I purchased and from about the first cylinder-full on the revolver did not function properly. The trigger pull became very stiff and would erraticly misfire. After firing the spent cases were EXTREMELY hard to eject. All visual checks were ok,and the overall length of the... The Venerable 10/22...WARNING (long story)

This is the basic history of my 10/22....this is the very first gun that I bought on my own. IIRC, it was around $90-100 bucks at the time. I got it to replace the Marlin model 60 that was handed down by a cousin that was so waxed out that it barely functioned. He gave it to me in 1979 (16 yo) after his dad bought him a brand new 10/22. It took me a few years to catch up, and in mid 1982 I finally got this one. I fired it every week for a long time and really learned what the uncle had been... Hi, everyone new to the forum, but I’ve been reading things for a while. I am the proud owner of the Ruger precision rimfire in 22 LR. I mistakenly watched a video of how to disassemble and reassemble the trigger, but it was for the American rimfire, and the trigger is different. I am having some trouble putting things back together, And not having much luck finding some instructions online. If anybody could point me in the right direction of a thread, or YouTube video, it would be greatly... Rpr trigger assembly help ..read more

Have Ruger Standard RST6 manufactured in 1972/73. Still shoots without issue and is more accurate than I. *Looking for a source for a spare firing pin for the parts box on the bench for this Standard. *Where do you order them and what will work as a backup pin for this model? *Just looking for one that will work if needed down the road ..read more
