Anyone ever had to put a finish paint on a completely assembled custom? In all my time of doing this....I haven't. But the only way I can figure to get a seamless finish on the 4Ward Speed chassis and upper body is to do the fill and finish with the wheels, interior and windshield mounted. THEN spray and finish the paint.

I picked up this Custom Cougar awhile back and later found out that antifreeze is a rare color for this casting. I could have just put some new wheels on it, but I decided to do a full restoration. It looked like someone had painted over the original paint, and then tried to remove it, as traces of red paint could be seen. The toning on the roof looks worse in photos than it does in hand for some reason ..read more

I’ve been doing a few redline restorations lately, and the first one I’d like to share is a 1972 Ferrari 512S. I did the restoration without drilling it apart and I didn’t use any reproduction parts. The body was repainted in the same color as it originally was, and I added some chrome paint to the wheels. Wouldn’t a modern RLC version of this casting be awesome ..read more
