I enjoy when the game updates mock the base game

One of the jokes I appreciate is if you finish the base game before doing the Settlers, Responders, and Brotherhood of Steel expansions. Conversations tend to go like this. "I'm a Responder too!" "Huh? I've never heard of you and I know all of the survivors." **** "I passed the Brotherhood of Steel tests at Fort Defiance." "Well, that doesn't actually make you a Brother of Steel but good for you." A nice little dig at the ridiculousness of joining groups that are all dead ..read more

Commander Sofia Daguerre vs. Beckett
No Mutants Allowed » Fallout 76
by CT Phipps

These are the two major CAMP Allies and they're very well done. 1. Sofia Daguerre is a nice Buck Rogers/Planet of the Apes-esque character where she is from the Pre-War Era and wakes up in a post-apocalypse era. She's an adorkable gamer girl and someone who, of course, was subject to yet another human experiment by the evils of the USSA. I was weirded out that she wasn't working for Repcom, though. I would have thought they'd privatized all space travel by that point. 2. Beckett is a... Commander Sofia Daguerre vs. Beckett ..read more

I admit, I like the secret of Vault 79

There's a certain level of humor to be found with the fact that you can go through all these elaborate quests seemingly to find something like the replicators at Dead Money or secret technology like Big Mountain or even just a GECK. And then you find out the secret: gold! Worthless gold! Which is exactly the sort of thing the 1950s USA would prioritize saving ..read more

I wish we'd gotten to play Fallout 76's story before the Scorched

I actually think it would have been fun to enjoy the game world before any of the Scorched arrive: * Meet the Responders * Find out Charlotte has been murdered by David Thorpe * Help the Order of Mysteries find its traitor * Stop David Thorpe by either infiltrating his Ski Lodge or just blasting it to pieces. * Win the trust of the Appalachian Free State. * Finally deal with the Enclave and its plan to start a second Great War with President Eckhart is the final boss. The Scorched are... I wish we'd gotten to play Fallout 76's story before the Scorched ..read more

Upcoming 76 Expansion Adds TV Series' Ghoul Serum To The Lore

As best I can tell from this video, since like hell am I installing 100+ GIGs of data on my XBOX again, and paying for Gold as well. The dialogue will be out in full soon after release I'm sure. The addition of that substance, which was essentially Zombrex from Dead Rising 2, into Fallout canon via the TV series was stupid enough. Now it seems Bethesda had this in mind long ago, and is using 76 to cement it into Fallout lore before F1. And Appalachia is... Fallout 76 - Six Years Later review (Yes, I like it)

https://beforewegoblog.com/video-game-review-fallout-76/ “Crawl out through the fallout, baby.” FALLOUT 76 is a game that both frustrates me as well as invites me in. Six years ago, I was one of the early adopters of the video game and it was one of the worst experiences of my gaming career. The world was lifeless, empty, lacking in any real... Fallout 76: Atlantic City Expedition - Bethesda's "New Vegas"

If you ever wondered what Bethesda would have done if they made a game set in Las Vegas rather than the team at Obsidian who gave us New Vegas, then look no further than the Atlantic City update for Fallout 76. I see this trailer and I think of towns like New Reno and the New Vegas Strip and just have to wonder how we got here. If you thought the Kings in Freeside were bad (they're not), this is far beyond the worst aspects of them. I saw no one talk... Is it just me, or does it seem like a real damned misguided DLC for any Fallout game? "Oh, the Pitt was great because it had X, and Y, and Z in it! Let us make a DLC taking place 200 years before the events that made it stand out, and have X, Y and Z in it again! Nothing's changed ..read more
