The second event of the 2024 California ProKart Challenge was contested on the April 20-21 weekend with the series returning to the Buttonwillow Raceway Park. Running the Buttonwillow, California circuit in the reverse direction from the opening round event in March, the Superkarts! USA regional program hosted Round Two of the six-round championship program for the eight categories competing. The 2024 Challenge of the Americas hosted the final round of the season on Sunday at the Sonoma Raceway. Dry weather greeted the over 110 entries at the Sonoma, California facility, contested the sixth and final round of this year’s championship chase. As forecast during the days leading up to the final weekend of the Challenge of the Americas, Saturday’s action was run on rainy conditions at the Sonoma Racing Karting Center. Overnight rains continued through the early morning, meaning the warm-up and qualifying were both run in full wet conditions. A break in the precipitation led to a switch to dry tires for the Shifter Masters Prefinal, but the rain returned for second final event and made for exciting racing.
