I’ve been doing Keto for 2 weeks and within a few days I haven’t been thirsty. Haven’t been waking up with a dry mouth or having to pee 4 times a night. Does that mean my blood sugar is going down? My feet bother me though. Burning, numbness, stiffness. Does that ever go away? My scale hasn’t changed? 2 weeks of 1000 calories or less, low carb. Exercise (I’ve always exercised though). Strange thing is when I was eating crap and tons of calories I didn’t gain weight. 49 female and... Read more ..read more

I recently started a new 3 month supply of metformin 1000mg tablets and they seem to not be working. I suspect they are either poor quality or counterfeit. I got them from Optum, as I am required to do by my insurance. I am thinking of asking my doc to prescribe the ER version, in hopes of getting the real thing. But has anybody else experienced this ..read more

Anyone Else Having Teeth Problems?

I'll make this quick. In the last twenty-four months, I've had eight teeth surgically extracted. My dentist, of fifteen years, tells me that this is another complication from diabetes, but I never heard of it before. I have always taken great care of my teeth, and this is a little difficult to deal with, emotionally that is! I can't do anything about it, but it sure would be great to know if other diabetics are experiencing similar problems with their teeth, and if anyone has a magic potion... Read more ..read more

Hello everyone! I was wondering if there are any other gentlement in this site with type 2 diabetes and beards. My stomach makes a lot of noise on Metformin so my dr said she could change it to the extended release one. Is their less side effects with it? Does it lower your blood sugar better or longer? Why isn’t that prescribed first instead of the regular one ..read more

I was diagnosed diabetic 5 months ago with A1C of 6.8 and FBG of 126. I was put on 500 mg metformin. I've been able to lose around 45 pounds since then and cleaned up my diet and I exercise regularly. I recently went back in for my first follow-up and my A1c was 5.2 and FBG was 97. My FBG at home does seem to bounce around between 90-115--Probably a daily average of 103. I have used a CGM for the last 30 days and was 100% TIR for 70-140--the highest spikes I ever saw were around 150... Read more ..read more

Ozempic pen problem

I have been taking Ozempic for about a year with good results. Today however I had my first issue with the pen. Usually the dosing is fairly quick and the "clicks" of the pen are pretty steady as it doses; however today the pen took so long to fully dose...I almost thought it was stopping but it did continue (very slowly) until it finished my 1mg dose. This was my second dose from this 2mg pen, so it's the last dose, even though as usual with these 2mg pens there is a little left. Like I... Read more ..read more

I'm a T2 49yr old man, that has been able to control my GC levels thru meds, diet and exercise. But this spring, my allergies have erupted and my GC level have sky rocketed. I'm adding Zertec each morning and have cut back some carbs, but it has been a roller coaster ride. I thought that I was done with my allergies but this year it reared its ugly head because of the early spring. I've read that this can affect a person's levels, just was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same... Read more ..read more
