The short answer is “Yes!”.  Now the next question is “How?”.  This article will go into the three different scenarios most riders encounter on the trails and while riding.  We will also touch on the differences between the COM-G95 (GMRS radio) and The COM-DB90 (Race frequencies). How loud is your SXS? We recorded 3 different SXS with our decibel meter and this video shows the results: The OSHA limit is 90 decibels. OSHA states that any environment over 90 decibels for extended periods of time (8 hours) is harmful.  How long do you ride in your sxs? Based on our measured results all SXS’s are over the 90 decibel limit at some RPM or speed.  TheCOM can reduce the ambient noise by up to 25 decibels. Mackay Idaho is located West of Idaho Falls off of US highway 93 in Custer County. The town is pronounced “Mackie” with the accent on the first syllable.  Elevation is about 5,900 ft above mean seal level (MSL).  Mackay is a wonderful site for off-road riding, with both jeep, UTV and ATV width trials.  The trail system interconnects for miles. What is GMRS? GMRS stand for “General Mobile Radio Service” (GMRS). GMRS is a licensed radio service that uses channels around 462 MHz and 467 MHz. The most common use of GMRS channels is for short-distance, two-way voice communications using hand-held radios, mobile radios and repeater systems. Back in the spring Tony contacted us about purchasing a COM for his X3.  We sold him a Plug n’ play X3 system with two stereo helmet headsets.  He later returned to purchase a driver PTT and stereo over the head headsets.   We just recently heard back from him (November, 2020).
