Summer Woven Lounge Set + Tips with Kristin
Raspberry Creek Fabric Blog
by Brittney Laidlaw

Lounge sets are still all the rage, and I think they are here to stay because they are so comfortable and easy to wear while still making you look put-together. I love lounge sets in all fabric bases, but I think my favorite for hot summer weather is a lightweight, breezy woven. Raspberry Creek has all the best wovens for making your own lounge set. For mine, I chose a double gauze boxy shirt with elastic-waist linen slacks. I was thrilled to discover that the Dusty Mint Woven Organic Cotton Light Weight Double Gauze matched so perfectly with the Mist Dusty Green Washable Yarn Dyed Rayon Linen ..read more

Sew a Swimsuit Capsule with Brittney

I think swimwear may be my favorite thing to sew. Probably because we practically live in our swimsuits in the summer, so they get loads of wear. For the past 5 or so years I have been sewing swimwear for not only my kids, but all my nieces and nephews.    One of my favorite swim things is to sew a swimsuit capsule. I have found having tops and bottoms that mix and match make our lives so much easier; no more struggling to get wet suits on when we hit the splash pad in the morning and pool after lunch or worrying if they’ll be dry by morning.     This year I decided my cu ..read more

With spring sewing in full swing my kids have been wanting more fun and bright prints, but they also want to be comfy. My kids have been living in athletic sets, so I decided to give RCF swim a whirl to see if it passed the comfy kid test! I’ve found that finding athletic fabric in the prints that my kids love can be trick sometimes. Once I made the first set, they were hooked! It’s the perfect amount of stretch & weight for kids. For this set I used the Smile Checker Print Fabric from the Bright by Brittney Laidlaw collection, and I had one happy girl! I love that Raspberry Creek has SO ..read more

Hi, fellow fabric enthusiasts!  My name is Cynthia from @sewn_by_cynthia and I am on the blog today talking about the new Spring Woven Club Fabrics from Raspberry Creek Fabrics.  I will focus on two of my favorite woven bases, Stretch Crepe and Rayon Challis, and pair them with some of my top pattern choices.    Spring is the time of the year when the world around us begins to come to life.  The weather begins to warm and everything around us glows a bright and cheerful green.  This is the very reason that a bright, Spring green is my favorite color.  I ..read more

Machine Embroidery with Zayna

I began a research deep-dive in early 2023 about machine embroidery. It felt like the next phase in my sewing journey and I loved all the designs I would find online. In August I started a new job and one of the first questions my new boss asked me was “do you happen to do embroidery, like logos and things?”, call it fate! I found an excellent starter machine, a Brother SE625 refurbished on eBay and started off just adding our company logo to a variety of fleece sweatshirts, beanies, t-shirts, etc. and learned tons along the way.  Recently I thought about allllll the RCF In my stash and t ..read more
