Not perfect correct, but still retroish. Using a 14.7", 11.5", and 10.5" barrels. Seriously thinking about having the A2 with the 14.7" pinned and welded or cut to 13.5". With a standard A2 flash hider it's right at 16" OAL. Seems a waste of a SBR lower ..read more

while shooting my 300 BLK AR Pistol today and a weird problem occurred. the bolt stripped a round from the magazine and chambered it but didn't go all the way into battery. when I tried to eject the round, the extractor didn't grab the case rim. I pushed the takedown pin out and had a hard time opening it up. I had to take both pins out and take the upper off the lower because the rear of the bolt carrier was protruding about a 1/4" too far out the rear of the upper. I've put together a few lower's, but always bought complete uppers. I've removed barrels, and hand guards. I'm wanting to do a retro build. I found a upper receiver with no forward assist, or shell deflector...it does have the dust cover. Found a 11.5" A1 type barrel, the correct aluminum stock with buffer tube, and the right flash hider. I'm guessing a new PSA M16 profile bolt would be cool in a old style upper? I've not seen many color variations other than Black and FDE/Tan. Even though Magpul will list 4 in their packaging including relatively new product I never hardly see many color variations other than FDE for something else other than black.. Weird design. Why like this? Because I want to...? And otherwise I'd have a 10.5" barrel that I couldn't hardly give away despite the fact that it's a dang good barrel. I just have my fingers crossed that the John Holmes flash suppressor won't adversely affect barrel harmonics.
