I've been thinking about a PSA "M16A2" style AR-10 with a 20" barrel, rifle buttstock - carry handle sights and no scope. Not getting much in detail, but what I've read from people who've built these the one complaint I see over and over is that these rifles end up being "very heavy". Eight, nine, ten pounds unloaded? I'd expect them to be in the same weight class as an M1 Garand or an M14 - certainly not as light as an M16 rifle. Does anyone have any guesses or experience in the unloaded... Not sure if this has been answered or not my apologies. I have a .300bo (7in Q barrel) with EOTech Holo and 3x. But I honestly like LPVOs it seems that the eye relief on them is better then on the 3x. Is it worth picking up another and throwing that on or stick with the EO? I finally reloaded some ammo for my Bear Creek upper 450 BM and I can't get any rounds to chamber. They go in almost all the way then, no more. The brass is new Starline and I use the Lee Factory Crimp Die. The OD prior to doing the taper crimp is .480 which is what the Hornady book says, and .479 after the crimp. It takes a gentle tap with a cleaning rod to push the round back out of the breach when I just drop it in. If I allow the BCG to send the round into the chamber then I have to... Hello, My project is to replace my old upper receiver with a new one that has the picatinny rail. I hit a roadblock: my old barrel measures 1.01 inches diameter, and the receiver's hole measures .99 inches dia. I put the barrel in the freezer overnight and warmed up the receiver to about 90 degrees and barrel slid right in, to the point where it got stuck. Ok, now in the hunt for a newer armor`s kit for an AR-15. Mine has served me well over the long run but is somewhat long in the tooth and missing a few tools and the rest have seen better days. Hi all, Having a strange issue with my AR. It'll cycle perfectly then randomly it just won't cock. It ejects the old cartridge and chambers the new one, but the hammer doesn't engage randomly. It's a brand new bolt soI don't think it's that and I don't think it's a gassing issue since it feeds perfectly.
