I am looking for tips to improve my working space. This is my basement garage in my 120-year-old house, which I am trying to fix up while I house hack. My first improvement idea is to add more beer to my fridge. Let's hear yours. submitted by /u/MindBodyFist [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have around 24' of workbench that is birch butcher block. I have heard people.uaing motor oil to finish it. Has anyone done this or is it just word of mouth? It's a helluva lot cheaper and no food will be prepared on it. Let me now or I'm just going to have to try it out. Need help identifying a slat wall system

My garage has a wall covered with this slat wall. I'd like to buy more accessories for it but I can't seem to find any branding on the wall or any of the shelving. I've searched the local Home Depot, Lowe's, Menard's and Fleet Farm and haven't found anything that is similar. Anyone have any idea on what brand it might be? The slats are 3 inches apart. https://preview.redd.it/062lbcutu8ub1.png?width=668&format=png&auto=webp&s=f0da6a36b7c0286b0f991690fab9a443537bab9c submitted by /u/roohpichardson [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Need help finding a seller and name of storage units like this

Hello, Im in Florida and plan on building my first home out of huge storage units. Basically each one would be one room, I want them to all connect to each other so I can walk between them inside. (no doors, locks or going outside in between.) and be able to disconnect and be hauled away in case of natural disasters. I would like each one a very big size. I plan on adding water, electrical, windows. I have seen these on aliexpress so I know this is possible, but hope to find it cheaper and easier in the USA. Please advise model and seller names or any helpful info. Tysm. submitted by /u/Bumb ..read more

Hi all, Family works on motorcycles in the basement garage, but I have a parrot and the gas smell in the basement was traveling up to our living room yesterday. Any suggestions on how to prevent the smell/gas coming through out the house? submitted by /u/Mysterious-Fix-8558 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Design & Permits Done: Time to get a Builder & Quotes: Help Please

Planning on building a detached 34' x 28' garage. The architect and structure engineers plans are complete and county permit is in process. It's time to find a builder. I have had preliminary conversation with a few potential firms. I'd love to hear from others on how they went about that process, what to look for, what to watch out for, what to require (insurance, timelines, etc.). If anyone has any "bid specs" they may have used and would be willing to share, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance for your help. submitted by /u/dektronrancher [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
