This couple couldn't have had a more perfect day for their wedding ceremony and reception...comfortable temps, low humidity and a gorgeous view of the beach made it a total pleasure! (And the venue did its part, too! ;-) The Peter Shields Inn and Restaurant has recommended my services to quite a few brides and grooms now, for which I am very thankful... because I love visiting Cape May, and making people happy with my drawings! This time, instead of being inside, in the elegant parlor, I was outside on the breezy front porch! My subjects were seated in the comfy wicker loveseat.  A ..read more

Quinceanera Caricatures!

A previous corporate client turned into a regular (and repeat) client,  by booking me for her niece's fabulous Quinceanera! Here they are! (I arrived and started after the birthday girl had changed into her 2nd beautiful dress, so I don't have a photo of the blue confection she wore to the earlier ceremony. )  The banquet facility was lavishly dressed in royal blue and gold: You can see my spot to the right, below.  This was such a FUN party, everyone was exuberantly celebrating!  Mom/daughter, and Mom/son caricatures! Check out this couple's over-the-top r ..read more

Backyard barn grad party caricatures...
Emily's Caricature and Silhouette Blog

My caricatures were just part of a joint grad party for two best friends, in their beautiful barn and yard: My sitters were seated on a heavy bench, I always like that because it can't get "scootched" closer and closer to me, as folding chairs tend to do (or rather, the people on them!) Let's see some grad party guests! Here's their reaction on my Instagram! And finally, the two grads in color, who were so in demand (of course, it was THEIR party!) that I wasn't able to get a photo of them with their caricatures. Left just as the sun was sinking down low in the sky. Congr ..read more

Company Picnic Caricatures!

A ramping-up heat wave did NOT stop this company from enjoying a company picnic on their campus! Look at this AWESOME sign they made for me (and let me keep at the end! It will come in handy as "Boardwalk" is definitely a popular theme) Due to the large number of folks, I was asked to do my speedier "line-drawing-only" style of caricature.  Here's a few of their happy employees: Then after lunch, they moved me into the lobby (with A/C)  and I drew some more, including a dog from a photo at the end. LOL! Thanks for having me ..read more

Amazing Barn Wedding with my caricatures...

On a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, I headed out to do a wedding reception a little further away (south central PA) than I normally do. The bride had booked me almost a year in advance, she told me she had been following my Instagram for three years...and knew she wanted my caricatures at her reception. How could I say no to that!? It turned out to be a very beautiful and moving reception, :-) The ceremony was on the lawn between the house and the barn, this was my view from where I was setting up. Speaking of setting up, I made a time-lapse video of that here, and posted it to my ..read more

Senior Picnic caricatures!

This school used to do the late-night celebration, but this year they opted to have a Senior Picnic in the school courtyard in the early evening. So both my banner and I sat under an umbrella, and churned out a bunch of happy soon-to-be grads!  and I drew the friendly security guard again, I have drawn her several times now! Thanks for having me, BCHS ..read more

Carnival-themed 1st Birthday Caricatures!

Happy 1st birthday to this adorable but serious little fellow! Of course, the birthday kid always gets a deluxe, full-color caricature. I use Prismacolor Artstix to do these, which are discontinued, but I have enough to last me some years as long as I only use them for birthday people, guests of honor, and brides-and-grooms! His carnival-themed party was held in a fabulously decorated celebration space not far from where I live, so that was nice for me. I did line-drawing-only caricatures for the guests, so was able to do most of the kids and a few adults. Here's a couple of them: The la ..read more

Cruise-themed Post Prom Caricatures

I've been really getting used to staying up LATE with all the post proms I've been doing this year! This one was very local, and had a fabulous Cruise theme! Myself and the three other artists (all representing Caricatures by Courtney) were set up in an art gallery/cafe sort of area... I used my brand-new gig banner for the first time, but this event was kind of its "soft debut", since I was not representing my company (and so covered up my website and IG info) Here are some of the kids!  I forgot to get a pic of all of us artists together, but these will have to do: Mysel ..read more

Retirement Party Caricatures
Emily's Caricature and Silhouette Blog

Gig prep: I used a very old marker I recently inherited from my late father to do the calligraphy on these caricature papers. He  was an artist, too.  Here's the beautiful lady who just retired! Since it was raining, her husband completely cleared out their garage so it could become a gorgeous setting for her "Denim and Diamonds" themed party.  Check out my IG Reel about it.  I didn't take any individual photos because her daughter was making a marvelous Caricature Gallery, so everyone could see and enjoy them! Her other daughter made that cake! I told her if she w ..read more
