AeroMD recognized National Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day this year with medical team members visiting St. Croix’s Good Hope Country Day School. They showed students a specialized ground ambulance* and taught first steps to take in a medical emergency. During the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017, the AeroMD team had the opportunity to serve the Caribbean community. In the months that followed the back-to-back category five hurricanes, AeroMD completed more than 100 medical evacuation missions from the region. New Ground Ambulance Fleet AeroMD announces its own ground ambulance fleet. One AeroMD ground ambulance is based on St. Croix, while a second will soon be based on St. Thomas. A third roving critical care transport (CCT) vehicle floats between the three U.S. Virgin Islands, designated for disaster response. When category five Hurricane Irma struck St. Thomas last month, it was relatively kind to Nisky Center, home of the AeroMD membership office. Under the circumstances, the AeroMD team had completely shifted operations to their St. Croix base at Henry E. Rohlsen Airport.
