A North West Air Ambulance Charity paramedic from Lancashire is set to take on a world record attempt at the London Marathon on the 21st of April. Caroline, a Senior Paramedic Team Leader at the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA), is not only taking on the 26.2 miles, but she’ll be running while aiming to set a Guinness World Record. A local man is expressing gratitude to the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) for saving his life after he suffered a major heart attack while out walking his dog. Mark Barrett, who was 55 at the time of the incident, was walking his dog in the Lake District when he suddenly felt his heart pounding and began to sweat profusely. Recognising the severity of the situation, Mark’s wife immediately called for an ambulance. Financial services company, Together Finance have chosen to donate £15,000 to the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA). Together Finance, based in Greater Manchester, has made a significant donation to the lifesaving charity, to enable them to continue to save lives across the North West. A North West man is thanking a local charity for saving his life after a biking accident left him with potentially fatal consequences. Jon Hill, a 62-year-old biking enthusiast, was enjoying a solitary ride through the hills of Macclesfield when he unexpectedly collided with a farmer manoeuvring his cattle trailer onto the road. The North West Air Ambulance Charity has now been called to more than 3,000 missions across the North West in 2023, including, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria. The lifesaving charity provides enhanced pre-hospital care to the most critically ill and injured patients across the five-county region, an area covering 5,500 square miles.
