I followed this instruction by clicking on config editor and adding the line herehttps://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2221600-change-logging-options-at-the-server-level-iis that gave me a web.config error so I removed the line now all of my sites never start the loader keeps spiining. Here is the line I added hit enter then generate script the apply. When I removed it I hit enter and apply .\appcmd.exe set config -section:system.applicationHost/sites /siteDefaults.logFile.logExtFileFlags:"Date,Time,x-forwarded-for,UserName,SiteName,ComputerName,ServerIP,Method,UriStem,UriQuery,HttpStatus,Win ..read more

Cheapest way to host personal website/webapp

I dabble in dev a bit. I've got a couple webapps I've made in PHP that I would like to host on the internets. I don't feel great about hosting from my homelab (and likely my ISP doesn't either) so I'm looking for the free-est way to put it in a cloud somewhere. I usually develop on a LAMP stack and my stuff does use databases (mysql). From what I've found, the need for a db makes it tricky. It doesn't have to be mysql specifically but my apps have CRUD functionality with database items ..read more

Can I add SSL Cert to Sub-domain that has no hosted site

I have a domain with GoDaddy, say mydomain.com. The site for this is hosted and has a valid SSL Cert. I has a sub-domain A record, sub.mudomain.com. This sub-domain has no hosted site. This subdomain has a 301 forwarding to a external website. When you browse to the sub-domain it momentarily show that the address has no SSL.  Is there anyway to attach an SSL Cert to the sub-domain without it having an actual hosted site?  ..read more

I use ssh to access the web server(CentOS7). I noticed the website is inaccessible via web browser (522 error) and denied new ssh sessions few days ago. I have another PC with an existing ssh session to the server. (The PC never shut down for troubleshooting purposes) I had to stop the firewall (# systemctl stop firewalld) then the website is up and running, and able to access ssh from new session. After the web and ssh is up, I turn on the firewall (# systemctl start firewalld) but the disconnection happens again after few hours, I had to disable the firewall and it will work again. This just ..read more

I have an IIS webserver on our internal network.  It has several sites setup on it for internal use.  I would like to allow public access to only one of those sites using a specific subdomain.  How can I setup our firewall (Watchguard M370) to allow inbound access to that webserver, but only for that one site? Thanks ..read more

We currently have a virtual windows server that is running XAMPP to host our ConcreteCMS internal website. When trying to reach this server, whether by ping or by accessing the URL of the internal website it is hosting, we tend to get very slow response times. It can take upwards of 20-30 seconds to load the pages, especially after stretches of inactivity. I have adjusted apache server settings with no luck. I also analyzed the network with Wireshark while this was happening, only to see TCP retransmissions. Any guidance or troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.  ..read more

Right now our new website is supposed to be https://er.drgok.com Opens a new windowhowever we get a connection timed out from our Chrome browser but I can get to the system from using the node default node URL of localhost:3000 on the Ubuntu server. I can get to it as well from another server within the same network using the Web Servers internal IP. I have set up my WatchGuard Firebox with a public IP and set a SNAT for the public to the internal server IP of the Ubuntu machine. I have created firewall policies to allow http and https traffic to that SNAT that I created. I know this config wo ..read more

To start...I'm fairly techie, but not in this area. We bought a company with the domain and a simple website while back and I'm getting around to updating it. Our Website Opens a new window It is managed by Yellow pages. They are a enom reseller, and are the owner on our wix account. Our contract is coming up with them and I was recommended to convert over to godaddy. I think this recommendation came because GoDaddy can be 1 stop shop, hosting, domain, M365 etc. Talking to some other people on line there is a lot of hate for GoDaddy. We're a tiny company and we just need a bit easy button so ..read more
