When I load any page, my website is not caching the bundles, specifically this file - admin.bundle.js. So I am downloading 5mb every time I load a new page. Which makes the website massively slow. It would seem that the default cache-control header is public for this file or the bundles.
As I am using the exact same web files as the original server and the same .sql database as the original server, I presume that something is configured in IIS or within MySql Workbench on the original server that is not saved in the files that was sent me. that would override the default cache-control setting ..read more

I have an SFTP server on the DMZ server. Im running on OpenSSH-Win64, on MS server2019. That is all working. Now, I have a request to use the FTP server for export/import files from/to 3rd party SaaS software.
I decided to reuse my SFTP for this purpose. The challenge is that the fields on 3rd party software are a bit "not straightforward".
1. "Host" - I assume this is my pub IP.
2."UserName" - login username.
3. "Password" - ok it's a username's password.
4. "Port" - I have 22
5. "EncryptionMode" - Explicit, Implicit, None -No idea what to do here.
6. "DataConnectionType" - AutoPassive, PASV ..read more

Is there a way to have a subdirectory hosted on a completely different server? I know it could be done with APIs between hosts and some complex coding, but I'm talking about doing it in a more simple sense. For example:
https://foosite.com Opens a new window - goes to Wordpress site
https://foosite.com/ Opens a new windowforum - goes to custom forum software on a different host
Maybe there's a way to accomplish this with Cloudflare ..read more

Server 2019 w/IIS website that hosts the ERP for our two companies. Our network gateway is a Checkpoint Quantum Spark 1575 & our LAN consists of the typical workstations & printers connected both via ethernet & WIFI. The website has two incoming URL Rewrite rules, one for a reverse proxy & one to redirect http connections to https connections. The bindings are port 80 & port 443, the https binding has a registered certificate.
The website / ERP has been functioning just fine under this configuration for the past several months and then the following morning users from the p ..read more

So, we purchased a new domain for some rebranding. We will eventually migrate to this domain after we finish rebranding and get the new website developed. In the meantime, we would like for people visiting the new domain to be redirected to the old website to keep from having to migrate the website so the new domain can actually be used for development. My question is, should I use a 301 or 302 redirect from the NEW domain back to the OLD domain for now if we want visitors to make it to our old website for now. Obviously, when the new site is done I'll do a 301 redirect to the new domain from ..read more

What do people think about registering all the domain names that could possibly describe your brand with all the TLDs that look nice and all permutations?
I know in the old days of the internet wild west it was common practice to register the .com first and if you could find a geographic one you would register that. Also the .net version.
You had to do this because it was like a race for land where none of it was claimed and you had to go and put your flag on the internet.
But these days there are so many different TLDs and probably variations on your brand as wel ..read more

I have been tasked with exploring whether or not it is possible to centrally manage 3rd party SSL certificates (GoDaddY). I have minimal experience with SSL certificates. Is there a way to deploy updated 3rd party SSLs to our public facing and internal websites, or do you have to install them on each webserver and update the site bindings each time the cert is renewed? Curious if this is possible, and if so, what products do you suggest for accomplishing this ..read more

I have a older server running 2008 r2 and have several sites and other things on it. I have a new Azure server setup but I've never migrated a live IIS server before. I've tried using Web Deploy but we have a LOT of data in our wordpress folders on IIS, ~ 14GB and after running all weekend web deploy was still running so not sure if its just to much data or another error. Any pointers on best method would be appreciated.   ..read more
