Be careful where you take your daily driver. (Matt’s Off-Road Recovery/) From side-by-sides to Baja bugs, Matt’s Off-Road Recovery has rescued some interesting vehicles. But every once in a while, someone decides to take their near-stock vehicle where the road ends and bites off more than they can chew. This episode of MORR was one of those. The first call was a Toyota 4Runner that had buried itself in the sand. We get it, you buy an off-road-capable vehicle and want to figure out just how far it can go, but a 4Runner isn’t exactly a dune-shredder. Luckily, the owner found that out without lo ..read more

Fast Lane Car Unpacks the Cheap Jeep We Need
ATV Rider Magazine

Tiny jeep is tiny! Tiny jeep is love! If you disagree, you are incorrect! (The Fast Lane Car/) It’s tiny. It’s red. It’s a bare-bones factory Jeep concept from the 2016 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, and it’s back. No, they’re still not going to build it. But if you yell loud enough, maybe someone at Stellantis (aka Chrysler, aka Jeep) will listen. Or at least that’s…what we tell ourselves. When we’re not staring at the 70-year-old flat-fender Willys in the garage of UTV Driver Editor-in-Chief Zach Bowman and plotting to steal the thing when he’s not looking. That Willys is small and excel ..read more

Simon goes over a lot of great stuff here, including how to pick a spring rate for your rig, and the best upgrades to do for your application. Rather than being fully focused on getting the most travel or articulation out of a machine, Simon i ..read more

When you lose a race, rip donuts. (Hoonigan/) Hoonigan’s This vs. That is getting weirder by the week. This episode sees a 1,350-hp Ultra4 buggy that has been turned into a rock bouncer loose, break, and spew dirt all over creation. It is truly excellent. The buggy, dubbed “Shredded Lettuce,” gets shove from a blown 632ci Chevy big block that spins the tires through a Turbo 400 automatic. Cameraman sacrificing the body to get the shot. Strong work. (Hoonigan/) It has military axles, 47-inch tires, beadlocks, a custom concoction of suspension goodness, and it’s Extremely Green. It lines up ne ..read more

Mattracks got off to a humble start in Minnesota in 1994, bolting a set of tracks to a GMT400. (Mattracks/) The company that showed the world it was possible to put tank-style tracks on a GMT400 and drive over or through anything that lay in your way turns 30 this year.
