10 Reasons To Do Personalized Therapy Intensives
Tabitha Westbrook Blog

Why do clients want to do personalized therapy intensives? Sandra* lamented, “I’m so tired of just being on the cusp of something then our time is up and I have to stop. Then who knows what life is going to happen over the next week – it’s so hard to get back into that deep work! I wish we could have more time and just do the work!” We agree. Since 2015 we’ve been doing custom, personalized therapy intensives with our clients. They range anywhere from one to three days at a time (we usually start with a three-day intensive for new clients so we have adequate time to work). You might be asking ..read more

Written by Victoria Ellis, LMFT Associate You’ve probably heard it before: “You just need to process it and move on. Stop thinking about it. It’s been so long, why can’t you move on? Can’t you just accept it’s over? Why would you even consider Brainspotting in Flower Mound?”  Our culture is fast paced and focused on efficiency. We believe we should be able to reason through anything, out think our feelings, and put emotions and thoughts into their proper place. Even the way we talk about healing has become boiled down to “processing.” What the heck does that even mean anyway? Unfortunate ..read more

Ideally, you want a trauma specialist – someone well trained in working with trauma and e ..read more

Allowing Desire – Wake Forest Trauma Therapy

Yesterday I (Tabitha) came across the quote “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” It spoke deeply to my heart and I think it may speak deeply to the hearts of our Wake Forest trauma therapy clients about allowing desire. Many trauma survivors believe desire is a four-letter word with more letters. It’s not allowed. It’s not something you can have. You deserve what you get. You are not worthy of being cared for. You are broken beyond repair. In fact, you may not even be sure what sets your soul on fire. Heck, half the time you aren’t even sure you can feel a darn thing. S ..read more
