The Cab M is awesome. Really easy to use and it sounds great. I have no experience with the Hotone but their modelers and effects have been getting rave reviews by guys like Dave Friedman and Bob Bradshaw.. Statistics: Posted by GuitarBilly — Tue Jan 23, 2024 4:49 am ..read more

Eurorack is great if you know what you want to build (in my case a 4 VCO paraphonic analog synth) or want to experiment with generative music. It can be every bit the rabbit hole that guitar pedals are. The hardest part for me was figuring out what modules I would need. If you want traditional keys, I’d suggest that you look into starting with the Nifty Keyzs by Cre8audio. It has 49 keys, several modules built in, and a little over 100 hp space for additional modules. https://www.cre8audio.com/niftykeyz I started out with a Nifty Keyzs and installed a Behringer Model D, so I essentially had ..read more

Yeah the cool part to me is that you can put it on any guitar you wish instead of major work for a B bender. Statistics: Posted by guidedbyechoes — Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:48 am ..read more

There is a free vst that also has a paid version. it is called VCV Rack. It has a ton of emulations of real gear. I'd check that out first to see if it's something that interests you. It's as complex or simple as you want to get but real hardware is like 100-300 dollars per piece. But it can be a thousand dollars for a single voice monosynth with no patch recall. I prefer the semi-modular approach myself. Statistics: Posted by guidedbyechoes — Tue Jan 23, 2024 2:44 am ..read more

Would love any thoughts anyone could share. I'm specifically looking at hotone omni IR or torpedo cab m. Love to hear thoughts about one, or both if you've tried them both and can compare. It's for home practice. Cab sims built into amps are mostly trash. But I'd like to mess with my older amps too anyway. They don't get enough love. Load box is a rock crusher so I need a cab sim after it. My big criteria are the 3.5mm aux in and headphones jack. I'm typically playing with an iPad that has weekly setlist on it, and often after the kids are gone to bed. Having xlr is nice just to have a backup ..read more
