PPF Recommendations and Best Practices

Hello Everyone, Is there a list of preferred PPF installers ideally experienced with C7s? Looking for West GTA area, Ontario. I read the installer is more important than the brand of PPF we use. Appreciate if you can share your experiences and preference for partial vs full wrap and why. Also is it best practice to remove logos/stickers before PPF or I hear several installers I spoke to prefer not messing with factory glue and modern PPF is applied nicely over without issues. What is the... Read more ..read more

Who has cleaned their alcantara steering wheel? Most likely I'm planning to purchase this product to use on my ZR1 wheel: General PDP Template I've also been checking out vids on cleaning the wheel so just wondering if anyone has done basically similar or a different way or use a different product than what I'm planning to buy and use? Most things I've read the steering wheel should feel soft and kinda spongy but the area where you hold the wheel is now feeling the opposite and the... Read more ..read more

I washed the car yesterday and noticed the water on the roof didn't pool on the roof and it hit me I replaced the roof and never had it coated. So now I have to decide whether to take it back to cermicpro Markham and have the roof done or whether I should do it myself. Is Adams worth the $130?? I just need enough for the roof so maybe I should just use cheaper stuff ..read more

Permatex® Bullseye Windshield Repair Kit

General PDP Template www.canadiantire.ca I used this product the other day on the ZR1 and can give it a thumbs up. Sometime during the summer of 2020 was driving the car and picked up a rock chip on the w/shield. It was not big and wasn't a star hit or bullseye just a ping on the w/shield about 2mm diameter and not very deep. I thought nothing of it but decided to visit a Speedy glass to see... Car Ramps for Maintenance Work

I had a set of wooden ramps that lets say lacked that "quality" touch. Last year I built a new set that turned out really well, the car just eased up and the jack slid under the crossmember without touching any body work. Then along comes one of those "alternative" thinkers and I am disappointed that I had not viewed this video before hand. Part of the problem with virtually any ramp it that they impede access under the car from the side. This guy figured out a solution and it seems to... Read more ..read more

Toxix Detailing...July 2018

Well, as some of you know from the thread "Advice Needed" from June 2018 I really messed up the finish on my car. Full of streaks from unpolished compound that was not removed then sealed in with wax. Two coats to boot!! So I made an appointment with Elton at Toxix in Mississauga, Ontario to have it professionally corrected in his well appointed and laid out garage. Won't make this long but Elton and his hard working pal did an incredible job on fixing my mess and then correcting and... Read more ..read more

Bringing Shiny Back!

My '75 coupe was last painted in 1987....black lacquer. I used to use all sorts of waxes back in the day. The best results turned out to be a Dri Wash product. I'm always amazed that between the checking cracks and rock chips the car looks pretty shiny. The front end has numerous rock chips from miles of fun and even a couple of marks from distinguished cone mishaps on the slalom course. These are badges of time. This paint has NO clear coat, NO coatings... Read more ..read more

Griot’s Ceramic 3 in 1 wax

Since I seem addicted to trying new products I gave this a go last week on 2 vehicles. Super easy to use and the results were superb. Great deep shine that was better the next day and very slick. One thing that I noticed was after using, the transition from my PPF to paint became almost invisible. Will be curious to see it’s longevity. With products like this I think every bottle of wax or sealer I have just became extinct ..read more
