This is the comically simple and cost-effective process I follow 2-3 times per year for my 2019 Tacoma 4x4 OffRoad which is a daily driver and always parked outside. Except for a few rock chips and tee tiny bumper scuffs, it still looks like brand new. ---------------------------------- Step 1 is a complete and thorough exterior wash of my truck using my local coin-op about 2 miles away. YMMV, but my local coin op U-wash is crazy good with all the different wand & sprayer soap settings... My detail process and water-beading result to prove it ..read more

Paint or wrap my replacement hood?

So the hood on my 2011 is in rough shape. A really nasty dust storm I drove through added swirls, dozens of chips, and hundreds of microchips that are all slowly getting bigger and worse. Cracked my windshield, etc. Not cool. I just got a replacement hood that's likely got that black e-coating on it, looks a little glossier than your typical primer, but is still kinda matte black. Now what? Can I wrap over the factory coating? Or, can I have a shop add a clear coat or sealant to the... Paint or wrap my replacement hood ..read more

I’ve tried so many things and nothing seems to work! Does anyone here know what might work without damaging the composite bed? its also on my rear bumper, tail lights, and muffler! I'm needing to repaint my roof on my 2017. I live in South FL and got a quote of $1,350.00 to paint my roof only. Seemed a bit high for a local shop. I might even consider Maaco since it's just the roof. Anyone else painted theirs? How's the price nowadays ..read more

Just trying to start a general discussion about waxing and such... What's your favorite/least favorite wax? Any other products you love? I started out with old carnuba wax on my jeep back in the day, for the past few years I've been using spray waxes. I can't tell for sure but I think the carnuba still brings out the color best. But here in New Mexico, I am in it for the clear coat protection more than looks.. For spray waxes, I've used: Turtle Wax Hybrid ceramic - I liked it,... Happy Spring-it's waxing season ..read more

Hello all! I was curious what you guys think about some recent work I had done on my 23 lunar rock OR. I had a local shop fix a small rock chip I have on the leading edge of the roof of my truck. I had them also install ppf on the leading edge of the roof and on the A pillars. The ppf looks pretty good, but it looks like there is bare metal still where the chip was. Or am I just seeing things? I know paint chips are a huge pain to make look decent so Im not trying to be rude or... Rock Chip Fix ..read more

Washing wheel wells at car wash

This is probably a dumb question, but I will ask it as this truck is the most I have ever spent on a vehicle. Is there any concern hitting a warm/hot engine some with cold water when washing the front wheel wells at a car wash? I have seen some say cold water on a hot engine can cause a crack, but I haven’t heard of that happening for a long time. I don’t douse my engine bay with water. Not a lot of opening to the engine there, but some space for water to get through. Thanks for the... Washing wheel wells at car wash ..read more
