I want to start with I don't know if my kidney lesion is cancerous or not yet. I was diagnosed a little over a month ago with PTC of the thyroid and my ENT finally told me when I first got in about my BRAF gene mutation. I read somewhere on here that someones doctor told them it was like stepping on the gas petal and not letting up. I'm just curious about anyone else's experience with BRAF and if they developed a kidney lesion after being diagnosed with PTC. Also what did your doctors do for the kidney lesion or PTC before removal of the thyroid or lymphnodes? The only thing my PCP has done is ..read more

I'm currently 21 and will be 22 next month. Was diagnosed with PTC a little over a month ago after waiting nearly a year for a biopsy to be scheduled (issues with department shut down and people not wanting to do their job.) Ultrasounded in February and didn't get in for a biopsy until August. I came back positive for Papillary Carcinoma and was referred to an ENT for further treatment. My ENT surgeon has recommended a total thyroidectomy but wants to make sure that it's not in my lymphnodes. Last Monday I had a ultrasound of my neck and they noted that lymphnodes on both sides of my neck are ..read more

I had an ultrasound in January and multiple nodules were found. I didn't see the report but was told to follow up with another ultrasound in 6 months. I found out I was pregnant in March and am due in December. Last week, I had my follow up ultrasound and the results showed one tirads 4 nodule and two tirads 5 nodules on my right side. It seems like they are mostly unchanged from my previous ultrasound. The report from the radiologist says to monitor and return for another ultrasound in 6 months. Am I crazy to insist on seeing an endocrinologist and being a little more proactive? I'm reading t ..read more

Good evening, I am feeling tired, anxious, and not quite like myself after my recent thyroidectomy. I had papillary thyroid cancer. The cancerous portion of the tumor was 3.3cm. I am two weeks out from a total thyroid ectomy and feel out of sorts. I feel sad, anxious, tired, shaky, achy, and just not quite like myself. I have three teenagers and am a school principal. I just don't know if I have it in me to return to my principal job in the fall while feeling like I am feeling now. I just feel so uncertain about the stress, demand on me, and ability to balance things ..read more

I having left side vocal cord palsy since Feb 2023. Then, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer last two week and had Thyroid removed entirely 3 days ago. Doctor looked at the physical form of tumor using ultrasound and it should be malignant. After surgery, doctor describe the tumor was hard to removed, "hard solid". I will get the biosy result this coming thursday and pray that the cancer does not spread to other parts of body. The problem I am concerned if the tumor spread too fast or is it possible that malignant type cancer does not spread to other parts ..read more
