Just a quick question. Can Hashimoto's cause your TSH levels to swing from hypo to hyper? I think that's where I may be headed. My TSH was 26.7, then 80.2, then 9.5, and now it's 4.97. Throughout all of this, I have not been given medication because we were doing tests and trying to figure out what's going on. Now my doctor says that i don't need anything because I'm "Normal". Yet I'm still feeling like crap.
Has anyone else experienced this? What did you do to combat the crazy symptoms and...

I’m 46 years old and one day April 26th I woke up with tremors. I started having heart palpitations in Feb. I had covid in Jan and assumed it was from Covid. I have been to my primary doctor. He told me it sounds like anxiety. Tried to put me on antidepressant. I said that is not the issue. Finally in June he ran my T4 blood work came back normal. I have been to my endocrinologies, Neurologist and cardiologist. My cardiologist saw my thyroid sticking out of my neck. I have tremors, loosing...

Hi! I’m a newly diagnosed Graves’ disease patient and am overwhelmed with the information regarding treatment. From what I gather it seems like the majority of people that go on methimazole end up in and out of remission. I’m hoping for a more definitive treatment and am going to have a total thyroidectomy.
I’ve heard regulating your levels after is very challenging and curious what other issues I can expect?
I’ve had cancer treatment previous and am not willing to get RAI.
I also do not...

I just recently made the change back from NP Thyroid to Levothyroxine. I made the change due to the recent change with NPT becoming a non-generic drug. Ended up being far more than I was willing to pay monthly. And, I started my hypo journey with synthetic drugs, so I expected a reasonably easy transition. But, my doc used the chart to dose me. I was on 90mg NPT, and she put me on 150mcg Levo...needless to say, I'm now a mess. After roughly 6 weeks we're going down to 137mcg; I was on...

Hi everyone, I am new to this board. Sorry for the long post but I am looking to see if anyone has had similar experiences as me. I have been trouble swallowing for the last 7 months. I have seen various doctors and had many, many tests done but so far no real answers. The ENT I saw thought my thyroid felt large and thought he could feel something on the right side so he sent me for an ultrasound. They noted a heterogenous echotexture and a 30mm x 17mm x 13mm solid and hypoechoic nodule on...

Hello!
I take Levothyroxine-like medication daily because my thyroid doesn't produce enough hormone. Problem is, my TSH is too low now (0.1), while my Free T4 is right on the high margin or just over it, even though I wait just 5 minutes after taking the medication before I have breakfast. But when I tried skipping the medication once every two weeks, the opposite problem developed, even though I waited an hour after taking it before I had breakfast: TSH became too high, going from the...

Hello, I am looking to find anyone who has been diagnosed with Centralized Hypothyroidism but did not have a tumor in their pituitary gland? I am struggling with this disease, especially with the fact that no one knows what's causing it. Has anyone been through this and found a cause that wasn't in the brain? All my MRIs came back normal ..read more

I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. From April to July of this year, I occasionally had strange sensations in my throat - like when i sneezed it felt like part of my throat was caving in (weird sensation, I know) and sometimes when i swallowed it felt like there was a lump in my throat. Otherwise my health was fine.
Then, in July, suddenly I was sick - coughing, hard to talk (hoarse voice, needed to clear throat a lot), and tired all day, sleeping 10-12 hours a day...

Hello everyone. I'm Michael, and new here.
I was diagnosed with Graves in 2007. I've had hyperthyroid symptoms all my life. I'm on methimazole (15mg/day) and doing just fine under the care of my endocrinologist. I have a very enlarged thyroid, 3-4 times normal. My neck looks "fuller" in front, but no goiter, nodules, cancer, etc.
I've scheduled a thyroidectomy coming up in 10 days, because my deductible is met this year and there's a new ENT Dr in my area that has experience with...
