What is this question asking? Is it asking the number of possible networks that can be formed?
Let's take example of class A.
Host bits=8*3=24
Network bits=7
So possible subnets should be 2^7=128
Let's take example of class B.
Host bits=8*2=16
Network bits=14
So possible subnets should be 2^14=16384.
I feel like I am confusing in number of subnets and number of networks. Can anyone clear my confusion ..read more

Well, while not sure if I'll actually go for the CCNA, I've decided to start studying for it to supplement my education and training.

While I've only completed the first 3 modules so far (still got the first assessment to do), at the moment it's seems like the Network+ with specific Cisco aspects to it. This may change as I progress. But it is still very interesting. I only wish I now had Cisco switches instead of HP switches at work ..read more

I believe it’s important to learn concepts from a POV of X, when trying to learn something very confusing that could mean multiple meanings.
These are what I wrote in my college notes of TCP IP that I did 6 years ago.
Much of it is confusing as both seem to be doing the same thing.
Can you...

I bought the Cisco CCNA test prep from Cisco. I've read through the study guide and now am in the virtual lab."Perform Basic Switch configuration" and when I use the CLI and put in the IOS line "sh ip int brief" I get an error and the caret is under the "i" in ip. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Studying for my CCNA. Maybe I am a little ahead of myself but what I am trying to do is ping a PC on VLAN 10 from another PC on VLAN 10.
I have a PC behind a switch, which is behind a router. I then have a connection to another router which is connected to a switch than a PC. I can get the packet from the PC through the switch and to the router, but not to the other side. I am able to do this with just using VLAN 1. Can someone look at my tracer packet file and tell me what I am doing...

Just wanted to run something by you all for your very valued opinions.
A couple of years ago I picked up my Cisco CCNA. The courses were great and once I passed, I was over the moon! Then COVID hit, I got made redundant and took the first job I could get.
Im really interested in Dev Ops so was thinking maybe its worth looking at the DevNet Associate exam. Number of reasons:

so i have confusion(and what i have learnt)-:
1) application gateway opens 2 tcp connection inbound and outbound and so does circuit gateway.
2) application gateway just authenticates but circuit level gateway does not authenticate(then how does it trust the incoming and outgoing users), it is confusing.(or does it authenticates?) many books are signalling it doesn't do it.
3) application gateway doesn't examine the content(like packet...
