Can anyone help me safeguard my router? I have a netgear router that has constant DOS attacks, syn floods from source IPs with a high or medium fraud rating. There is always a device connected called ReadyDLNA even though I make sure to not enable the ready share setting and dont allow USBs to be approved to connect to our router. Hello, hoping to find some help here. Recently, my wifi extender has been dropping signal for maybe 30 secs every hour or so. I know the connection is fine (usually) since it shows four green dots along with high speed wifi on the app. It just goes from completely normal to absolutely nothing, and also like breaks my VPN so I have to pause and reconnect every time. I have an MR6500 that I normally use for a single laptop. I have an event coming up that requires Windows machines to communicate freely with each other on a lan with Internet access, so thought it would be as easy as connecting to the M6 hotspot and turning off Windows firewall (the computers are recently repaved and will be again after the event), but I am not able to get the computers communicating through the software on port 1000 and seeing consistently high losses when trying to ping each other. TL:DR - Can a service side issue cause the modem to become unresponsive? I recently started getting disconnects from my ISP. The first few times I just unplugged the modem and it started working again for a few days. The drops started to get more frequent. Once a day turned into every 5-10 minutes over a course of 3 days. Each time it went down, I was unable to log into the router to check the downstream and upstream signals.
