Hello, I moved into a home in October that has a pretty nice inground pool and spa.  The house has solar and propane.  The pool system has a Minimax 400 pool and spa heater that runs on Propane, with separate thermostats for Pool and Spa.  Not exactly sure how or why it has separate thermostats since by the looks of it, there is only one input and one output.   That being said, the gas line that attaches to the heater runs down into the concrete and underground, but its not hooked up anymore.   It appears that at some point, the previous owner decided to deta ..read more

Hi all new here ! As title, the hot tub was filled back up today after not using this winter (uk) all was normal upon start up, slight air lock but cleared itself, left it running to heat up, gone back out to check and this display was showing 000, couldn't  find any reference to this so turned off at isolator and back on, then all that would happen is the pump would turn for 1 sec and go off with nothing on the display. Pool PVC piping question, my planned pool pump room PVC system has 1 x 3 inch pipe coming out of the Filter / Saltwater Chlorinator and then tees off into 3 x 1.5 inch PVC pipes to feed the pool return jets, if I extend the 3-inch pipe to the front of the pool at the far end away from the skimmer box and then tee off the 3 x 1.5 inch pipes to the pool jets will the water delivery pressure be approximately the same  (or a little less) will it perform as if the tee off was done inside the pool pump room as normal, any other pros or cons about this suggestion as I can eliminate two of PVC pi ..read more

Hello! Bought a house with a pool, getting ready to open it for the season and could use an assist with the valves. They were labeled at one point but the Sharpie has rubbed off. The two incoming/suction valves are labeled "Spa ____" (currently off) and "Pool ____" (currently on). For the four outgoing valves, they are labeled 'Pool Return" (currently on), cleaner (off and we aren't using an tube assisted cleaner atm), "Water Fall" (our water feature, currently off), and "Spa Jets" (currently on).  Which of these should be on/off for normal pool operations? Is it normal procedure to use pressure plugs when testing spa housings for leaks? We have 3 out of 6 spa housings with cracks in the threads and was wondering if the pressure plugs were screwed in too tightly when the leak testing was done. Thanks for any and all help/advice ..read more

Hello,   I have a Jandy 1400 salt cell with a Aquapure “computer” model: APUREM.  This week we had a power outage which may or may not have anything to do with it. But after that the computer starting beeping and displaying a code DE followed by 60 flashing in the screen. The chlorination level went to 35% (we had it at 60%).  However, the flow light wouldn’t come on.  The power light was on and cell reversing was flashing (3-4 second intervals). I am plumbing my own pool, this will not be the first pool I did my own after the shell was sprayed. The main drain and Spa drain are 3" diameter. I have a Polaris Halcyon PB4-60q pump that start howling with no pressure coming out on the pool side.  I am planning on rebuilding it, but aside from replacing the bearings, seals & orings, how would I be able to tell if the volute or impeller were no good (bad) - to determine if they were the source of the problem?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
