So I have this Solidworks 2D sketch with dimensions. I would like to capture an image screenshot on it. The problem is, when I zoomed in as fit on screen, it is small and doesn't show entire sketch clearly because the size of my laptop screen is 14 inch. Is there any method of capturing the screenshot so that it looks like I'm zooming it in like I'm using a 32 inch monitor? Thank you ..read more

What file format would be most suitable for providing my client with a user-interactive experience where they can manually drag and drop parts of an exploded view assembly and assemble them individually? The assembly is created in SolidWorks, and I've experimented with HTML, 3D PDF, and eDrawing formats, but none seem to meet the requirements.
I'm looking for advice and recommendations from the CAD community on the most effective file format for this purpose.
Thanks for your insights ..read more

I really don't understand why Dassault Systems doesn't adopt the Autodesk purchasing model by giving transparency on the cost of their software on thier website and allow direct purchasing of subscriptions via the website.
Personally, I hate talking to sales people. I want it to be simple and buy as I need and cancel when i want without the hassle of doing it over the phone.. Just so you know, I'm put off buying Solidworks and currently opting for inventor because of this even though I'm far more adpet at using SW than INV..
I know people from Dassault and SW frequent this forum ..read more

It's a word document now but after I finish im going to use this thread to detail everything(hopefully ..read more

I have made a drawing in Autocad which I imported into Solidworks as a dxf file and am unable to extrude it. I have enlarged
the drawing and inspected it to no end, and cannot see any loose ends. Is there a tool in Solidworks 2019 to aid me in finding
any errors, or shared joints? I am enclosing the file.
Thank you,
Ezra

Is the procedure for naming Properties in SolidWorks documented anywhere. I have searched help and web but was unable to find any.
For example:
"SW-Cost-StockType@food_processor.SLDASM"
What does the part before and after @ means.
Sometimes there are more than 2 strings separated by @
Sometimes there are more than 2 @ symbols together.
Its all confusing.
Where can I get info about this ..read more
