An incident investigation is an operational tool that documents any event that may or may not have caused an injury to a person or damage to property. The purpose is to record incident, help determine possible cause, list possible corrective measures, and to inform stakeholders. Benefits from investigating incidents are the communication of risk awareness, immediate reinforcement of actions, and continued process improvement that when practiced diligently could reduce future risk.
