Looking for fics that match the title. Not looking for: A/B/O, anything pregnancy related (unless it's canon that the two had a baby together) Some examples: Matt Murdock/Jessica Jones (MCU characterization): The former likes to play up the "poor blind man" act and has a whole bleeding heart thing from being Catholic (the actor was just sweating, but the character cried when Frank Castle, mass murderer spoke about his family). At night he's a ninja who beats up criminals. Jessica Jones is an angry drunk with super strength and terrible luck. Lotton the wizard/ a lot of the women he's met. (T ..read more

Do NSFW authors ever masturbate to their own fanfiction stories (or at least their own ideas if they hadn’t written any)?

I remember seeing a tweet (I sadly no longer have access to said tweet) in regards to nsfw art and artists, but it made me really wonder if the question is also applicable to writing as well. Given how horny fanfiction authors and their stories tend to be (and there is no shame in that!), it makes me wonder if anyone ever got all hot and horny for their own stories and ideas. For the title question, you can either explain if authors do or do not get aroused by their own stories or you can answer the question with your own experiences on how horny you got from thinking/writing your own stories ..read more

Is slow burn based on absolute length or relative length?

I'm currently working on a draft for a lil mini-fic that's only gonna be seven chapters long, but the two main love interests don't get together until chapter five. Is it slow burn because they get together late in te game, or is it too short to be slow burn? submitted by /u/VLenin2291 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Which confirmed-non-canon pairings are the most popular?

What I mean by "confirmed-non-canon" pairing is that the pairing must be verified as absolutely not canon in at least one of three ways: The pair unmistakably confirmed in their canonical universe that there's no chance they'll ever be a couple (denying it in response to a tease does not count as unmistakably confirming) The two individuals involved in the pairing are already canonically paired with others (e.g. Tai x Sora from Digimon, since the latter is canonically married to Matt) The two individuals are from different franchises that are not likely to ever cross over (e.g. Elsa x Jack F ..read more

MCD Aftermath Tagging

So, I have a series of longfics. Main love interest died at the end of Part 2. I am now starting Part 3 and running into a tagging quandary. A central pillar of the plot is my main character grieving and coming to accept that his lover is gone. It will come up constantly through the story, in pretty raw terms. But the death is not in this fic. Nobody in this fic will die. Do I tag MCD? My initial strategy was Chose Not to Warn, but that backfired spectacularly on Part 2 and I don’t want to do it again. New to writing fanfics

So I’m new to writing fanfics. I’ve written them in the past but never really had the courage or confidence to do so. Does it help to do research into the fic you are writing to make it more enjoyable and flesh out the characters if they are OC? Any help is welcomed submitted by /u/coffeeequalslife94 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The light at the end of the tunnel

I’ve been working on this fic consistently for almost 2 years (first started planning it in 2020). I’ve written, rewritten, rerewritten, altered, tweaked, published, tweaked again, unpublished, rewritten a 4th time, tweaked some more, and gotten over several cases of writers block to write this one stupid story. Now finally FINALLY I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have 2 more chapters to write and I can actually see the finish line. submitted by /u/Jeonghanscheekbones [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

A Question about Tagging

I'm writing a post canon story which uses almost 100% canon material. I estimate 90% of the story is from canon. For the sake of story telling I've ignored two particular scenes in the movies. Though my story doesn't change the status of the canonical couple or the ending of the movie. .Would you feel "ripped off" if I tagged it as canon compliant? It's definitely not an alt universe story. The story is long so I don't want awhole bunch of comments telling me I was being deceitful of the way I tagged the story. Perhaps I should point out it's not quite 100% canon in the notes. submitted by ..read more

So, I'm writing a fic and have a Tumblr, but whenever I try to share the fic onto Tumblr, it always sends you to the first chapter of my fic, not the specific chapter I want. How would I fix this? submitted by /u/IxaSumami [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Lack of kudos and traction

this is going to sound so unbelievably stupid, i’m aware, but i can’t help but be so upset over it… i wrote this fanfic for the marauders fandom for almost two years, honestly thought it was magnum opus kind of idea… and it’s not getting the kind of traction i thought it would. i’ve written a lot for the fandom on different accounts and never really believed or liked my works (typical writer stuff), but i for once really believed in something i wrote and now it’s not getting the kind of love i for once had the confidence thinking it would. it has a lot of comments, it’s just the lack of kudos ..read more
