At shoot on Sunday I was shooting falling targets in a strong wind, when the target landed on a branch and hung up for a second just as I shot I ended up missing the target. The guy I was shooting with me said it had to be reshoot, I said no it’s a lost target since I shot at it I bought it. he keep going on on that it has to be reshot. I did reshoot it and it flew fine, It was a target you had to shoot second of a true pair. I did win the event by four targets. I could not find anything... Tree interference ..read more

We had the annual community college charity Sporting event last Sunday. Had 227 shooters. Beautiful weather (after driving snow the day before...) and fairly soft target setting, which is to be expected. High score was a 98. Shot by a Lady shooter. I don't recognize her name, but she was on fire ..read more

CZ All American. Thoughts? I saw one at the Meadows Junior Blast this weekend. Seemed to be a nice adjustable shotgun. My son is shooting a 20 Beretta SP at the moment. I expect him to hit a growth spurt soon. Hoping to have the next comp shotgun figured out when he is ready for a 12 ..read more

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that these shells would not be on my radar. I have any said in numerous posts they are too slow. Well, I won a flat of these. I can’t believe how hard they break a target with no recoil. Is there anything wrong with these shells? B&P lists them as a training load. What would keep them from being a full time tournament load ..read more

Shot a registered SC this past weekend. One of the stations was a true pair, incomers from 11 o'clock and landing at about 2 o'clock. They would come in right at the bottom of the bare limbs of a tree...normally. In fact, the first bird had to be broken through the limbs in order to have time to break the second. One of my pairs had both birds come in about 6-8 feet higher than normal, their paths behind the tree until just a few feet before hitting the ground. I was able... Opinion on rules ..read more

Giacomo’s had their trailer set up at the 2024 Big Seafood Blast at M&M this weekend. My 20 gauge 686 suffered some sort of malfunction that caused the gun to be locked shut with a dead trigger/safety/selector. I asked them if they could just get it apart for me so I could store it in the case to take home. They took my gun back right away and got it working, even though it was a Beretta, and I got to look at some gorgeous Perazzi guns while I waited. As a side note, what perfection those... Here's what I learned shooting the last 3 days

Shoot the easy course to gain confidence and keep the fundamentals sharp. Shoot the hard course to learn how to hit new and/or difficult target presentations. Move your gun at the same speed of the target. I've heard it a million times, but it really clicked for me on days 2 and 3! If I did it correctly I broke the clay with a maintained lead. Sometimes the gap didn't feel right and I stretched it at the end. I suppose pullaway was the case here. Either way there were some long birds I...
