Some years ago I switched from 1 1/8 oz to 1oz. Now that targets are getting further out. Sometimes around 75/80 yards. Considering going back. For the past two years I carried a box of 1 1/8. Just for certain targets. All but quit using those . Because the 1 oz worked just as good . If not better until. Last week shot a tournament. That most of the targets were 65 to 90 yards out. Change ammo or find a place to practice extremely long range targets ..read more

Recently I was shooting clays at my local club, and I saw a magnetic gun holder that attached to the upright windshield frame. It had an adjustable clamp system and a very powerful magnet (Round Disc). Realizing that it was something that someone had forgotten to remove when they checked the cart back in to cart barn, I turned it in at the office so that it could be returned to the proper owner. I failed to take a picture or get the manufacturers name. I did ask the attendant where I could...

I've been shooting sporting clays for a few months and I absolutely love it. I've been shooting my boyfriend's 15 year old SKB 12 gauge. I wish he would let me buy it from him but it's his favorite field gun for dove season and there's no way he is going to part with it. While I know he will always let me use his SKB when we go shooting together I have been wanting an over under of my own. I was given a cheaper Yildiz model that my mother had bought from Academy more than a decade ago. It...

I started shooting sporting clays this year I started with a Benelli semi auto shot 35-40 consistently then I bought a tri star over and under again shot in the low 40-44. Last week I recently got a great deal on a browning 725 shot 4 rounds with it this weekend and my scores are 25-30. I don't feel like I am doing anything different. The gun feels great. The owner of the course suggested I change the site at the end of the barrel from green to white which it came with. I won't be shooting...

In picking a 20 over a 12 gauge that much of a disadvantage. A couple of birds ? It would be lighter and faster to get on target plus a little easier to carry afield even with 30 inch tubes ..read more

Yesterday I took a new neighbor of mine out to a SC's range to do some fun shooting. He told me that he thought he would like to learn to shoot clays and asked if I could help him decide what type of shotgun to buy. I told him that I had 2 guns that he could shoot to get a basic idea of what he might prefer. We took a Beretta Silver Pigeon and a Beretta A400 Xcel (smurf) gun out for him to shoot. All went well UNTIL he mounted the gun..... He shoots left handed and both my guns were set up...
