Hi! I already have the Learn and Master Guitar with Bonus Workshop DVDs, the 2006 version and currently working through it. I'm already in Session 4, found out in this forum that it really is a tough session. Anyway, I saw the updated Gibson version in Udemy. How different are the two versions? Is it worth buying the Gibson version separately? It's currently priced $30 in my country. Thanks ..read more

Hi compañeros, I hope you're well.
I want to ask a theory question. On page 37 of the Gibson Learn and Master series, we got taught the Esus chord which is just like the open E Maj chord with the 3rd #-ed up from G# to A natural. (Photo attached with my scribbling). Then on page 44, Steve shows us the Fsus chord which is just the same as the Fm7 next to it but with the pinky slid up on the G-string to an A#. Cool, the 3rd is #-ed a semitone (half-step to the US players). BUT!!!! we've still got an Eb in there, which is a flattened 7th in the F Major scale.
So, rather than a Fsus chord which I ..read more

So, I just started session 6 and it seemed to be going well till I come to eighth, quarter, and half rests when strumming the minor seventh chords. I have watched Steve’s videos and when it comes to exercises 1 (C/Am7/C/Am7) and 3 (Em7/D/Em7/B7) of the “Open Minor 7th Chords” which contain rests, he actively mutes exercise 1’s quarter rests, but he doesn’t doesn’t mute the eighth and half rests in exercise 3. Why? What is the difference? Since I’m learning to read music on a staff, it seems to me that all rests should mute the strings. I am so confus ..read more

I have a question, it says in the bonus resource book to have all the exercises completed at 92 beats per minute. But I tried doing the finger pattern #1 exercise 3 in the bonus resource book and WOW that is so fast.
I don't even know if it is possible to move my fingers that fast.
So I guess my question is, do we need to be able to complete that exercise at 92 bpm to move on ..read more

Hi Guys, thank you for reading my post.
I'm from Portugal! Hyyeeeyyy.
I started playing the guitar like 2 years ago and i think i had a good learning process and evolution with the JustinGuitar Begginer and the start of the Intermidiate course but then i just started to get more interested in soloing so i started searching more about scales and stuff, and time passed by like that.
I'm happy with my guitar journey but i feel like what i'm doing is not enough for me to evolve even more at this stage of the learning process and get to a level where i feel more confident with what i can do with rh ..read more

Hey everyone!
Just to preface, I absolutely LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Learn & Master Guitar and Steve Krenz.
Just a few nights ago I was researching some different courses that people recommend and Learn & Master Guitar was the lowest on the list. And it gave a few reasons for that. Specifically, that it was low resolution (which can't be helped since it was made so long ago), and it used DVDs and CD's which most people don't use DVDs any longer and I don't even have a computer that I can use to rip the songs to my computer so I can put them on my phone. I had to purchase a cd playe ..read more

Well, after almost 2 years(?) of being "stuck" at S11, with several detours, ie; completing the Fretboard Workout Series (Major Scales, Speed and Agility, and Jazz Chords) I'm finally bidding Session 11 - Pentatonic Scales fairwell. I've moved on.
After learning the 5 forms and how they link together, I worked on building up speed and accuracy. I believe Steve recommends 80 BPM. I managed to get the speed up to about 125BPM 1/4 notes... so I guess that meets the requirement. Does this mean I'm capable of blistering melodic solos ala' Joe Bonamassa or S ..read more

I don't know if anyone has asked this yet but on page 60 of the lesson book under "Giulliani Studies for Classical Guitar" it has G7 in bold and in the tab it has 1 on the 6th string, a 3 on the 5th string, and 2 on the 2nd string. I've looked through the book several times and even googled it but I've not found a G7 string where you press the 3rd fret on the fifth string anywhere. It does through exercises 1 and 2. I was wondering if this was a typo or did I miss something? I watched the dvd again but it doesn't show how Steve is making this G7. Any help would be really appreciated since I've ..read more
