I put a one-knob Silicon Fuzz inside my guitar.
it's cool.
I bought a body of a Fender Deluxe Roadhouse on the Gear Page. The body has a battery box built into the back. The stock controls use the middle knob to set several tone options, all tinny and lame. But that's not what I bought the body for.
I found a little pcb for a one knob Silicon Fuzz from GuitarPCB for $7. I bought a bunch of them. The schematic allows modifications, but for this build I followed the stock...

Over the time I see LPs and other single-cuts (aka MIJ LPs) with different top carvings.
I quickly drew their partial profiles in MS Paint:
Which profile do you prefer and why?
Have you made this profile yourself of ordered a ready-to-use one (e.g. as a carving template set ..read more

My brand new 60’s on the bench today. I run 10-46 Eb so needed a small quarter turn to loosen the truss rod. 0.06 neck relief. Now perfect. Was a little buzzy on the cowboy chords at 0.04 factory (Eb would be the culprit).
0.06 seems to be my sweet spot. Gibson recommends 0.10 and MusicNomad and some others 0.06
Anyways got me thinking, what do you all prefer for relief ..read more

Hi Folks,
has anybody replaced the stock pickups in a 2019 60th anniversary R9 with boutique PAFs and experienced improvements?
The reason why I'm asking this, is that I've recently purchased a 2019 60th Anniversary R9 that I've selected in a high end guitar shop after an afternoon playing a lot of different custom shop les paul (including other 60th anniversaries, true historics and collector choices) and it's by far the best lester I've ever played.
It sound so good that at the moment I...

How technically complicated for the 1st time to build an enlarged Les Paul?
For example, a Les Paul Standard or Custom with dimensions of Buckethead Signature.
As I understand, building such an enlarged Les Paul requires a complete "readjustment of the whole line" including:
- body layouts,
- top carving templates,
- neck templates,
- etc.
Is that correct?
Have you ever made an enlarged Les Paul? Are you willing to build it for the 1st time in case of an order ..read more

This is a theoretical question.
Recently I have seen this:
Which made me thinking: why usually Les Pauls have separate stopbar and TOM if they can be merged into a single device (see the image)? In other words: why Gibson (or perhaps exactly Theodore M Mccarty) decided to implement the "stop" and "adjust" functions in two separate devices rather than in one single device? Perhaps the tonal qualities? Aesthetics? From the economic point of view: usually two separate devices cost...

Navigator N-LP-CTM (all years) owners, can you please measure neck thickness at the 1st fret and (optionally) at the 12th fret? How many inches / mm are there? When posting the results, please include the year of manufacturing.
Reasons:
- general interest in neck profiles / measurements,
- interest to compare the results between themselves (hence, to see whether there is a consistency),
- interest to compare the results with the results for 1954 and 1957 Les Paul Custom (including reissues ..read more

Just had one of these break under the weight of an LP after three months. I've used these for years on lighter guitars, but my admittedly heavy Les Paul Standard snapped it like a twig. Any recommendations on a heavy-duty, nitro-safe wall hanger ..read more
