EKWB having internal issues?

Not a good look, and surprising considering how much I assume they tack on top of their products, and how many people blindly purchase their products because they are one of the most "mainstream" water cooling companies out there - quality control issues aside as most of us know. Can't imagine where all of those profits are going, as we don't really see a shortage of new water cooled builds out there, a lot of which have at least a few EKWB items ..read more

AIO vs Air cooler for 14900K ?

I am trying to cool a 14900K . Case is very well ventilated. I don't think that the AIOs are a safe option because the pump could fail at some point whereas Air coolers last a lot longer, I have a few questions: How long does an AIO last until the pump fails ? is it manufacturer dependent ? I am looking at Arctic Freezer III 420mm, The warranty on it is 6 years. Will it last for 10+ years ? Without physical inspection, Is checking the pump's RPM the only way to tell if it has... What are these fittings called?

I know it's a bit of an overkill even for just 3 rads, 2 blocks, and 3 sets of QDC, but I'd like to get the IceManCooler Dual D5 . I found an image of someone using it with those fittings that look like they simply plug in. What are those called? Thanks ..read more

D5 pump speed

I am wondering if running a pump at 100% could be bad in that the water is moving too fast to where it is not getting cooled as much as if it were moving through the rads slower ? I been running at 100% and it is not a problem. I do not hear it or anything. But am wondering if there is any science to it cooling better at a slower speed ..read more

Possibly the stupidest idea ever: a cat based heatsink!

So you’ve got a watercooled box with a delidded 14900ks and a 4090 and too much (which imho is any) RGB… what next? Do you have..a cat? Does it like to sit between you and the monitor? Does this annoy the living hell out of you? Invisible or see thru cats are not a thing.. I checked. What about a place where it WANTS to sit because it’s warm, AND is between you and the monitor, but does NOT make you want to commit pesticide. Attach a vesa mounted heated-by-watercooling tube shelf on your... Possibly the stupidest idea ever: a cat based heatsink ..read more

I've built a full custom loop, 2x 420mm rads, 4090 water-cooled, D5 pump, and an EK-Quantum Momentum cpu mobo monoblock I'm hitting 98 degrees within a few seconds with the CPU drawing 330-340w under full load It seems like a bad mount/thermal paste application to me, but does anybody have any other ideas? What would be expected for this setup? Any help would be appreciated ..read more

Iceman Direct Die Motherboard Incompatibly?

Okay I haven't found much on it yet, but I'm starting to get concerned, I've seen people with the Iceman direct die who own either the z790 Apex or Apex Encore, and it seems that there's a clearance issue with both or one of them with the block sitting right on top of SMD's on this particular board? So tightening it down would only price to kill the board? Is there a solid work around for this without compromising the blocks efficiency ..read more

H20 memory is hard

Not cooling it, just getting the old heat spreaders off is hard. I remember when I did my first kit and ruined them...I've done several since, but I was just thinking while do this how much more difficult it is to remove those heat spreaders, and then lining up the screws just so, so the whole thing will pop in your memory slots without an issue...in comparison to delidding of course Here's a picture for attention ..read more

Combination Res/Pump Efficiency

I'm an old water-cooling enthusiast. I still have some artifacts from the previous generation and I'm planning on doing a build with them. My 250mm bitzpower res fell off a shelf and shattered, so I started looking for a new res and saw the prevalence of small pumps in reservoirs, or this new "all in one" trend. Are people really able to push liquid through a GPU block, CPU block, and 360/480 rad with one of these small pumps? Especially looking at the amount of 90s people are using (which...
