Hi there,
Thanks for your time.
I am currently 6'4" and 235lb, and also handsome. I am very weak and most of me is a big round belly, like a care bear.
It's pretty clear I'm too porky around the middle.
I am two weeks into weight training, and I am loving it and seem to be getting strong very quickly.
Question: What should I be eating?
Right now I'm still working on improving my diet.
Lift day eating:
630am Wake and 75g protein shake
12 noon 75g protein shake
Pre-lift green apple and/or gatorade
Post lift 75g protein shake
6pm Dinner chicken breast and steamed broccoli, maybe with a li ..read more

Hello Robert Santana
I have a question about industrial ice cream after training, to be more especific after prowler training 2 times a week in the morning during fasting period.
The ice cream is mixed in a blender with 30g of albumin, 100g of whole milk powder, 100g of oat flakes, 3 or 4 large spoons of ice cream and 2 or 3 oreo biscuits. (And 500ml of water)
I have 3 suplement shakes everyday with 30g of albumin, 100g of whole milk powder and 100g of oat flakes. The only time i'm planning to add (or not) the ice cream is in the first shake/meal of the day ( Tursday and Thursday) before the ..read more

Hey guys, so I met with a guy at the gym yesterday and he told me something that made me scratch my head in confusion. Essentially what he said was if you want to get big and strong, you need to cut out carbs or restrict them in order to stave off the bodyfat you gain on a bulk. I was always told that carbs are alright, and that it was just the amount of calories you need to watch as far as a surplus goes. Don't get me wrong, I realize that it's physically impossible to cut out carbs altogether (as any food has carbs in them along with an amount of protein and fat), but what he said made me ju ..read more

So I have done the NLP for a couple of months now and made decent progress, however I also put on too much fat for my liking. I’m 188cm/6f2 and 110kilos/245lbs. So I am no going for shredded abs or something, I want to get rid of the gut though.
So I plan to go into a caloric deficit for the next 8-10 weeks. Id appreciate advice on how to adapt the training so to minimise strength and muscle loss ..read more

Hello my name is Matt I’m a 36 yr old man, 6’ 245 lbs, body fat somewhere between 30-40% (based on two “smart” scale estimates and photo references). I’m running out a linear progression, and currently my lifts are
Squat: 380 3x5
Deadlift: 435 1x5
Bench: 255 3x5
OHP: 160 3x5
Clean: 155 3x5 (just added)
I started this progression at the start of the year after a few months of inconsistent training, so my main goal has been just getting into the gym more regularly. I haven’t focused on my diet too closely. Best guess is I’m averaging around 3k calories a day, but I’m just as likely to have a 6 ..read more

Hello, Mr. Santana if you are reading this, I appreciate it, thank you. My name is Jonathan, I am a 20-year-old 5’5” tall, 184lb young man. I want to state that I have a history of being overweight and obese, the most I’ve weighed is 220lb. I started going to the gym seriously and strategically on October 30, 2023, weighing high 190s. Long before then, I'd been attentive to the knowledge that Mark Rippetoe provides through his radio/podcast, picking up on key concepts. I do, however, want to be clear that I was not doing the Starting Strength program in any way when I began going to the gym, a ..read more

I've been a carnivore for the last 4 years to help mitigate some auto immune health problems. I know this is not optimum for muscle building but I'm playing the cards I was dealt. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cooking and I like stuffing my face so I generally eat one meal a day (dinner) that is usually 2 pounds of steak or ground beef and 8 eggs cooking in butter. Besides this I generally drink black coffee and water. At least I know I hitting my protein requirements
My question is would there be any benefit to eating multiple meals a day or trying to time meals around working out ..read more
