I recently picked up an HP Pavilion a805n at a thrift store hoping to play some xp era games on period appropriate hardware. I have had no problems whatsoever with the installation apart from the audio not working. I have tried reinstalling the drivers many different times, to no avail. The device shows up in device manager as Realtek High Definition Audio, but when I go into the control panel and then into sound settings, it won't let me choose a device. Hi all, I didn’t even think there would be a group on here for so, I’ve been struggling for about two days googling the diddly out of my problems. I’ve bought an old Toshiba laptop that’s running XP 32bit, I’ve had to buy this to upload PP2000 (Peugeot diagnostic program) I’m running through the process of installing it and I have to cut off a file from the installation path? It’s one word I need to remove to allow it to upgrade using an .exe file, does anyone know how to cut of the file name from the path, I have the .exe file to double click and get going but I’m not sure how to get into it ..read more

I've been really interested in getting an old computer to run Windows XP and install videogames from that era and stuff, so i was wondering if anyone here with an era-accurate Windows XP computer setup could recommend me what to get for not too much money.
