I’ve got a small part time pressure wash business. Last few years I’ve just ran it out of my truck but I’ve got a trailer now and I’m going to expand to make it alittle easier and more efficient. Right now I’ve got a 3200 psi 2.5 gpm Simpson PW and I’ve just used pump sprayers to apply chem. The question is.. if I’m going to invest in more equipment/setup should I get or build an actual soft wash system with a 4.5-7.0 gpm pump or should I use my pressure washer to down stream? The majority... Pressure Wash Business ..read more

Subbing out powerwashing

Hello all, I am contemplating subbing out the power washing for all my exterior jobs. I have contacted a local business and received quotes from him. Pros: 1) He has better equipment and knowledge. 2) He has the insurance for that type of work. (I am covered for pressure washing, but he has better coverage) 3) It frees up a day (each exterior) for me to be making more money on other jobs. 4) One less piece of equipment to maintain and load in/out of my truck. 5) I may get some good leads... Hello all! I have been contracted to do a 5700 sq foot commerical ag building. It is completely finished inside. I will be putting repose gray on the walls and they are wanting Dark Walnut on the baseboards, door jams and doors. There are 28 doors so I was wanting to just set them up in a zig zag fashion and spray the stain, wipe and poly on. But I am having trouble finding what brand of stain can be sprayed at all or can be sprayed without any thinning needed. Also, I would like to use... Staining Interior oak trim and doors. There's a lot of black stain on some patio stone contracted to seal. It's old stone, probably 20 years old. I have tried the following products to soften the black. I don't know if it is tree sap, some type of mold or what but nothing works!! Bleach, ammonia, mean green, borax, TSP, vinegar, wd40, baking soda, vegetable oil, goof off, goo gone, paint thinner, I think that's all I've tried. NOTHING!! Hope someone can help me ..read more

Roof Cleaning Question

Instead of climbing on a roof and using a pump sprayer for application, I've tried down streaming standard bleach with soap for roof cleaning without rinsing. Full strength isn't strong enough. Still too much water. Will stronger pool bleach make the mix strong enough to get the job done. I can usually soak down the entire roof from the gutter line in minutes. With all the black roofs around I'm looking for an easy and safer way of dealing with them. Anyone doing this or am I totally... Roof Cleaning Question ..read more

Sorry if this is a common thread but I tried to search through the forum and couldn't quite find what I was looking for. I am just starting out my own painting business and I need to purchase... well literally everything. Starting out with a pressure washer. I know the paint pump I am going to buy and everything else but my knowledge of pressure washers is limited to how to turn them on/off, adjust pressure, and wash a building. As for the company, I am hoping to paint approximately 20-25... Advice on Pressure Washer Purchase ..read more

Good morning. When you have a second would you mind answering a couple questions on a pump that I purchased from AR? I purchased a RVK4G37 to replace a 4G32 the finally gave out motor is Honda 11HP I know that motor will not give me 3700 psi but good with 3200 set the unloader to max of 3200 and works great (measured with gauge after pump before hose) I measured the GPM and it is coming up 3.5 GPM To reach 4 GPM do you adjust unloader to higher psi? Will... Presssure washer GPM ..read more

What's the ideal bleach % for house washing?
Paint Talk Forums » Pressure Washing

I spoke with my local pressure washing supply company and the guy said he can get me bleach in any concentrate up to 62%!!! I think pool bleach is typically 12.5 and household is now 8% around here. Downstreaming is typically 1:10 so would 20% be too high? That would really only be 2% on the wall. Most recipes say 1 part bleach 3 or 4 part water and some soap. Which is 25 or 33% yes? Otoh I've used household bleach and it seems to work pretty well. Sent from my blah blah blah ..read more
