Firstly I apologise for the lengthy post, and thank you for those who wish to read about my brave, courageous boy ??? Kai started with seizures in the early hours of my birthday morning 9+ years ago, he was 2 years. Our journey over the following years has been memorable to say the least, some who know say it was a Marathon. Trials, exploration, adventures, laughter, sadness & tears, but one I’ll never forget, neither will my close family, friends, Vets, and strangers who heard briefly... Doesn't Feel Real

I had to put my Maddie to sleep on January 26, 2023. She was 13 years and 4 months. I'm so heartbroken, she was my best friend. But what is awful is that it feels like she was never real. Like I look at pictures of her and it looks like something I must have downloaded from the internet. She was so beautiful! I hate feeling this way, it's so disconcerting. Has anyone felt this way after losing their dog? My sister said it might be denial because if she was real, then she is really gone. I... Doesn't Feel Real ..read more

I recently went through a devastating loss with one of my most beloved pups. It was sudden and I felt paralyzed in my pain. There aren’t words to express the depth of grief and suffering I felt, and at times still do. In the spirit of offering some help, I wanted to share a book that I began reading because I felt no one in this world could understand my grief and I needed to turn somewhere. “The Pet Loss Companion” by Ken Dolan- Del Vecchio became the life saver I could reach out to. It is... Grieving & Loss Support ..read more

Our Dear Greta has Crossed

Our 10 year-old Greta was diagnosed with severe IBD 2 years ago and with treatments, special diets, and lots of love, her symptoms improved and she lived a pretty good life since then. Unfortunately, the past several weeks, she had slowed down, great fatigue, and recently was eating less with persistent coughing and got worse and I took her to our local emergency vet service (where she's been followed for the past two+ years). Very long and excruciating story made short, she indeed was... Our Dear Greta has Crossed ..read more

It’s taken me lot of courage to write this down. I am still unable to accept the fact my best friend is gone. Oscar was a heathy 8 and half year old Goldie, so full of life and child like enthusiasm. Lastmonth we took him for a haircut because it had not been properly done for almost 2 years due to covid. Everything was fine and we waited for him to come out. But when he came from the cut he didn’t look well, we gave him water before getting in the car and he collapsed. We immediately... My baby 8 and half years old ..read more

The quote is below. Over the past many years, I have lost two loving friends whom I believe have gone to a better place. Every now and then I look at pictures or even videos of those wonderful times spent with them. This quote from Will Rogers says a lot about our love for our dogs, and about the kind of quality of life we all gained by having had those experiences. Quote: "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went" Bless all who have had recent... A simple quote from Will Rogers ..read more

Hi all, I stumbled across this site recently, and it has been nice just to read through some of the experiences of other owners. The reason I am posting for the first time, is because on Saturday, I lost my pup a few months shy of 9 years old. Trooper was the best dog I have ever met. Although he was a family dog, shared with my wife and two young kids, we definitely had a connection that he didn’t share with anyone else. He was a puppy at heart. He grew up on the farm, only last week... My best friend ..read more

He collapsed and dies up our woods 2 days after Christmas this year. No warning, I had been videoing him 5 minutes before He was 6. We worshipped him, we have his brother from the same litter and a 2 year old girl. He was top dog and had so much character He was an absolute beautiful boy and I can not accept he’s gone. Every night I cry, every night I pray that his brother won’t die. I’m so so scared I miss my beautiful boy, 15 weeks on I miss him more and can’t believe it’s happened He...
