Hello, I've lost 4 stone over the past 11 months, but this last month I've dropped maybe a pound. Now, I'll be honest, I drink about half to three quarters of a bottle of red wine most evenings. I do it because I'm used to it. I've been mainly low carb most of that time. I'm feeling a bit deflated (I wish) because I thought I'd be further along my weight loss journey (I hate that word) by now. Summer is on its way, and I'm still fat. My question is, I've been drinking the same or similar... Read more ..read more

Diary of a CEO: Layne Norton (YouTube)

A long one - but there are chapter links to the bits you may be interested in. Layne is a bit of a "controversial" person in the diet/nutrition/fitness world. Mainly because he refutes much of the mantra which is spouted on the intrawebs by people trying to sell you stuff. He does this by referring to actual science, and peer review studies and meta-analysis of multiple studies. His background is in biochemistry as an undergraduate, and PhD in nutrition in his... Hello all I am confused. I have been put on trulicity and yes, I have lost a lot of weight. I am on the smallest dose and it has been amazing. The problem is, I don't know how it is working. As I understand it, the drug is supposed to stop me from being hungry so I eat less. It doesn't. I have swopped to a lower calorie intake because after menopause, keto no longer worked for me (and a whole host of other things I won't go into here - suffice to say, I stopped keto, went back on it and... Bear with me. I do try not to whinge. Here I am very happy with now-normal BG and weight loss through four clothes sizes, all due to keto/low carb and the support from you lot (thanks ever so). And apart from no medic has even SEEN me since original diagnosis 2 and a half years ago, nor asked what I have done to get here - people I know who have seen the new me refuse to believe it's all down to diet, and give me that funny look before telling me I have either had gastric sleeve surgery or... Weight is a strange thing

I am now well within a normal weight range, though I'd like to lose a little more. I don't weigh every day (that way lies madness) but I find it interesting how weight fluctuates apart from obvious reasons. Yesterday I weighed myself first thing, then had a busy morning with only a cup of black coffee until 1400. Then I thought just for scientific research, I'd see what I weighed. Mysteriously I'd put on almost a pound. Scale is extremely sensitive and seems to be in good working order. So... Read more ..read more

So this buzz around GLP-1 drugs used for weight loss- Ozempic, Wegovy caught up to me and to be honest, I am curious and surprised, as to how so many people have been reporting success especially those who had hit a weight loss plateau. I’m curious to hear about anyone's experiences with Ozempic/Wegovy in here.. Have you found it effective in managing your weight and blood sugar levels? How have you dealt with any side effects, and do you have any tips or advice to share with others... Read more ..read more

Healthy lunch

Hi, this may sound silly but what do you have for lunch and what can I eat for lunch to help lose weight? I need some ideas... At the moment I have a sandwich (mediumslice white , bread, 2 slices) with ham or turkey or tuna for example then an apple or banana. I also like crackers and cheese. Is that bad?
