When did your scleral contact lenses start feeling comfortable? I want to take them out after only wearing them for 30 minutes they make my eyes incredibly dry and sore I have been wearing them every other day for a week now and have my checkup tomorrow, I just hope I am able to get used to them and don’t need a new prescription. submitted by /u/Unfair_Coconut1902 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

https://www.amazon.com/Contact-Cases-Permeable-Lenses-Shallow/dp/B0BCKZZDW6 (Im not associated with this seller at all) These cases are so damn helpful. I actually keep one in my bifold wallet at all times. It makes my wallet thicker but I only keep a couple cards in there. If my lenses bother me, I know I always have a case on me. I actually only wear one RGP nowadays, I keep my daily prescription (a pill) in the other spot in the case, in case I ever forget to take it. They used to be hard to find, I had to buy like 200 of them in bulk years ago, but looks like Amazon has some sellers selli ..read more

So I got my left eye done last month after getting my right done last year and I have a scleral lens in my my right eye and had to pay $500 for it. Next month I’ll be getting my next contact and wondering why aren’t scleral lenses considered medically necessary after the surgery? And is there any way I can get my money back and avoid paying another $500 for the next scleral lens? submitted by /u/jsawusa [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So I have been learning about my contacts just to make life easier and maintaining them easier for me. Found out today the ones I have do not have the hydra peg coating (I still find them fairly comfortable) and am thinking about adding that in my future pairs. Is hydra peg worth it? Are there any disadvantages to it? submitted by /u/CalendarRemarkable12 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey all I made a post a while ago abt how hard it was for me to get my lenses out. A lot of you were so informative. I wanted to offer my method First like the comments told me I use the solution to wet the plunger and use eye drops before attempting to remove the lense The trick is to aim for the edge but if you are anything like me your hand eye coordination (no pun intended?) is completely off. Specifically I was still having trouble actually getting the edge My solution for this is to look to the side (look left for the left eye and right for the right eye) before inserting the plunger.
