Last night I saw that Home Depot had a pre qualification link so I decided to give it a try.  I was pre qualified for $4,000.  I hit the continue button to accept the offer and I got a code 26.  I was disappointed that it wasn't instant.  I called them this morning and they sent me a text message to my cellphone number and I was given full approval.  I'm very happy.  I have other accounts with Citi that includes a savings account.  They went thru Equifax and my score is 760.  I checked other reports to see if there were any soft inquiries from Citi last ..read more

Hey y'all!  I am in need of some help/advice.  I was served in March for a debt that was sold to LVNV and it is still within the SOL.  I am going to court on Monday representing myself and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing.  I just want to show up so that it does not turn into a judgement against me.  I used Solosuit to answer questions from the court documents I was served.  I also used Solosuit to send or file a Arbitration.  I believe LVNV or the lawyer involved received that on Friday 7/19.  I was wondering if anyone could give me some Statut ..read more

My brother has, shall we say, less than desirable credit (FICO score well under 500).   He was looking at getting a secured card to start rebuilding his credit, then got an email one day from CapOne with a prequal offer.   He did the prequal, figuring he had nothing to lose, but didn't expect to be approved.   CapOne approved him for an UNSECURED Platinum Card!  The starting CL was only $300, but damn...we were shocked that they approved him at all with such a low score.   I told him, hey, it's not much, but it's a start.  Use the hell out of it and always PIF.&nb ..read more

Advice for new rewards CC

Hi!   My score(s) is back up to about 800 now and I would like to apply for a new rewards CC. I looked around and didn't see any updated advice on what is good right now + which ones hold long grudges. I currently only have a Chase Freedom card (~30k limit). I do not ever carry a balance, but would like the option to do so at 0% if those cards still exist. Chase Freedom had a great intro period of 18 months at 0% + higher rewards (1.5% now), but I am past that now and would like to start over with a new card. In the past I have burned AMEX so I assume they are out. How about Capital One ..read more
