Hello, After some quick advice.
I did a Balance transfer about 18 months ago which is coming to and end in June but before payday.
All in there is around £600 left to pay So i plan to pay £300 this month an the remainder at the end of June.
However my BT 0% period ends on the 2nd of June. Before payday. I was wondering would i charged interest on the remainder of whats owing or the full amount that was originally transferred.
I have a BT offer with a different provider but want to avoid a BT 3% fee for such a small amount.
Thoughts please ..read more

Defective Barclaycards. Despite being placed - in my wallet - alongside my credit cards with other institutions, my most recent three Barclaycards have only lasted a couple of months before they have become defective (unable to be read at ATM/EPOS systems). Am I unlucky or are others experiencing this problem ..read more

I have a credit card where I have a direct debit set up for the minimum payment. I cleared most of it on the 24th April with a balance transfer to another card. My account is still showing minimum payment due tomorrow £104.99. I only have a balance now of around £250. I thought maybe it just hasn't updated but I called up and he said no because you have a direct debit set up then the payment will still be taken tomorrow. It doesn't sound right to me. I would have thought if I had made a payment then I wouldn't have to make a minimum payment but he said no its calculated from your last st ..read more

In September 2023 I booked flights for June 2024 on a Canadian airline using an HSBC credit card. In February I had an email saying the airline had ceased operating with immediate effect. I called HSBC, who said that since the transaction was made more than 90 days earlier I could not claim a refund. I looked into it, and discovered that the rule did not apply since the flights were booked for June, so the 90 days did not start until June. I called the bank again and was told they had made a mistake and I could claim. I was then sent an email confirming that I had raised a dispute and would he ..read more

I'm sure I have been overcharged interest on my Jaja credit card. At the start of the month I owed £1467. I paid off £315 and spent another £132. I have been charged £44 interest. The interest rate is supposed to be 23% pa. I think I shlould have been charged £28. In the past when I have complained about the amount of interest I have been charged, JaJa customer sevices just tell me it is correct, but they never tell me how they worked it out. Am I being ripped off ..read more

Received a CCJ notice for about 3 grand, one of these bulk Mortimer Clarke ones (on behalf of NewDay?
I do owe the debt, but I believe the process in regards to the PRE-ACTION PROTOCOL FOR DEBT CLAIMS has not been followed.
I was not sent Annex 1 or 2 as listed in the process, nor is the date of the agreement listed as per Section 3.1a(iv), nor a letter of claim sent by post as per Section 3.3.
I’m not trying to get the debt written off, I know I need to pay it, but would their letters not including the information required by the PAPFDC be grounds to chall ..read more

Hello!
We have about 20k in the bank ready to spend on our house - namely White goods, decoration, sofas etc (no building work)
Is it better to keep the money in a high interest savings account, and get a credit card with rewards - pay for the goods through the credit card - which we would pay back monthly IN FULL via the savings account?
Thanks!

Kept getting emails from capital one saying I’d been pre approved for a classic or balance transfer card, think it’s cause I did a quick check a few months back maybe, anyways I wasn’t interested but they kept sending the emails so I decided to go for the capital one balance transfer card as it was 6 months interest free I could move some money too it and save that way, so I applied and when I submit the application the website errored on me so instead of trying again I called them the next day to see if it had gone through which it had but they are saying it’s under review, I’m guessing this ..read more

I'm selling a car privately to someone. I've read on things to watch out for and one of those is someone paying with a CC because they "could" do a chargeback at some point?
If I was about to sell it and they went on their phone to do the money transfer to my bank account, how do I know they aren't using a CC without invading their privacy and watching them do it on their phone while seeing their accounts?
Thanks ..read more
