The Provisional Mission of St Osmund, Dudley, West Midlands, which began as a House Group in the home of Fr Mark Morgan, has found a new home for the Mission and established a Church in The Old School House, St. Johns Road, Dudley, West Midlands, DY2 7JT, Masses have begun each Sunday at 10am and 11:30am. It is expected that the Provisional Mission will petition Synod in May to be recognised as a full Mission in the Diocese. On Saturday 24th February 2024, being the Ember Saturday in Lent, The Right Revd Damien Mead ordained The Reverend Mark Morgan as a priest in the Church of God. St Augustine’s Church, Painters Forstal, Nr Faversham, Kent, welcomed a congregation, including those from Fr Morgan’s new Mission of St Osmund, Dudley, West Midlands. The House Group of St Osmund, Dudley, West Midlands has received a boost and re-designation as a Provisional Mission in the Diocese. The Bishop and Council of Advice have announced a change of the location of the XXXII Annual Synod of the Diocese of the United Kingdom. The Synod date remains the same,  Saturday 4th May 2024, but the venue will now be at the Cathedral Church of St Augustine of Canterbury, Painters Forstal, Kent. The day will begin with a Pontifical High Mass at 11am and after a lunch provided by the Parish, the business session will commence at 1:30pm in the Fyfe-Graham Parish Room.     During this years Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Bishop Damien Mead travelled to Sicily to receive an Ecumenical Award and speak at a ceremony in Capo d’Orlando. He also had the opportunity to visit with the Roman Catholic Parishes in the town. Fr Sebastiano – Roman Catholic Parish Priest of the Parish of Christ the King & St Lucy. Gave Bishop Damien a warm welcome and after attending Mass, he presented the Parish with an Icon of St Augustine of Canterbury.
