The Bishop is pleased to announce that he has appointed The Very Revd Jonathan Munn as Canon Theologian to the Ordinary. Fr Jonathan has a master’s degree and a doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, and a master’s degree and doctorate in Theology from the Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi Christian University (JHPCU) Miami, Florida, USA. He is a Fellow in Theology at the Victoria College of Music in London and a Fellow and Adjunct Instructor in the Faculty of Theology at the JHPCU. Saturday 6th July 2024  was a joyous day. The Consecration of St Augustine’s Church, Painters Forstal, Kent and the confirmation that it is to serve as he Cathedral Church of our Diocese. Grateful appreciation to Bishop Damien, Fr Ray, Fr Andrew, Fr Mark, our servers Roy, Aiden, David, our Cantor Barnabas, Organist Louis, to Nikki who oversaw our refreshments afterward, and all those who came to support this important event in the life of our Parish and Diocese. On Saturday 6th July 2024 we will, Dv, during the solemn celebration of Mass, formally consecrate St Augustine’s Church, Painters Forstal, Kent, as the Cathedral Church of this Diocese. On Saturday 4th May 2024, before the business session of the XXXII Diocesan Synod, the Very Revd Dr Jonathan Munn, formally presented Roy Hipkiss with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi Christian University, Miami, Florida USA, in recognition of Roy’s many years work with disabled children. (Fr Munn is a Fellow of the University and a member of the Faculty of Theology).
