The Provisional Mission of St Osmund, Dudley, West Midlands, which began as a House Group in the home of Fr Mark Morgan, has found a new home for the Mission and established a Church in The Old School House, St. Johns Road, Dudley, West Midlands, DY2 7JT, Masses have begun each Sunday at 10am and 11:30am. It is expected that the Provisional Mission will petition Synod in May to be recognised as a full Mission in the Diocese. On Saturday 24th February 2024, being the Ember Saturday in Lent, The Right Revd Damien Mead ordained The Reverend Mark Morgan as a priest in the Church of God. St Augustine’s Church, Painters Forstal, Nr Faversham, Kent, welcomed a congregation, including those from Fr Morgan’s new Mission of St Osmund, Dudley, West Midlands. The Bishop and Council of Advice have announced a change of the location of the XXXII Annual Synod of the Diocese of the United Kingdom. The Synod date remains the same,  Saturday 4th May 2024, but the venue will now be at the Cathedral Church of St Augustine of Canterbury, Painters Forstal, Kent. The day will begin with a Pontifical High Mass at 11am and after a lunch provided by the Parish, the business session will commence at 1:30pm in the Fyfe-Graham Parish Room. The Bishop has received a letter informing him that, effective from 28th January 2024, Canon Charles Johnson and the  congregation of St Alban the Martyr, Salford, Greater Manchester, have resigned and withdrawn from membership of the Diocese and the Anglican Catholic Church. This was followed on 16th February by the resignation of The Rev J. Bishop Damien has made this announcement: Today, Thursday 1st February 2024, is a day of wonderful thanksgiving for our Diocese. 8.5 years earlier than expected, the Mortgage on the Anglican Catholic Church’s Pro-Cathedral of St Augustine of Canterbury, Painters Forstal, Kent, has been redeemed in full, and the building is debt free. This Church is thus the first building exclusively owned outright by the Anglican Catholic Church in the United Kingdom, (as opposed to being owned by individuals), since the foundation of our Diocese in 1992.     During this years Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Bishop Damien Mead travelled to Sicily to receive an Ecumenical Award and speak at a ceremony in Capo d’Orlando. He also had the opportunity to visit with the Roman Catholic Parishes in the town. Fr Sebastiano – Roman Catholic Parish Priest of the Parish of Christ the King & St Lucy.
