I have two Schrade LB7's I am selling. I was asked what the serial number is ?. I looked both over thoroughly and the serial number is not present. I bought these two in 2001, so they were made prior to that. Both are USA made. I am providing a pic of the tang stamp. One side has this, while the other side is blank. I am not familiar with Schrade history. I had an older LB7 I traded to my dad for his vintage BUCK 110 and I remember it having a serial number. I did a google search... Read more ..read more

The Schrade Walden 153 Uncle Henry...Golden Spike & Schrade 153UH variations..

G'Day, This post should bring Codger out with comment on his beloved fixed blades. I jumped at the chance when Jackie offered me his Schrade Walden 153UH Golden Spike and I asked resident super sleuth lrv to do some checking on its possible history as Codger had always said that the 153UH was from mid 1973 and no Schrade Walden example had been seen to date by this forum and it would have to be considered extremely rare if a Walden surfaced.Just how scarce can be seen in this info lrv has... Schrade 227UH question

Disclaimer: I bought this knife for a pretty good price so the answer won't break my heart. The seller insisted the knife was made in the '90's and the fact that it doesn't specifically say "China" is an indicator that it was US made. I wanted to throw the yellow BS flag but I held my tongue and paid what I thought was a fair price for a Taylor Brand knife. The F&F is pretty good and I'm not particularly unhappy with my purchase. But is there any chance, the seller was correct in saying... Read more ..read more

Some earlier Imperials/Schrades Western/Frontier that can get under your radar.

G'day, Following on from the 49er series with their Western theme, there were a number of Imperials/Schrade in the late 70's early 80's that also covered the "Go West Young Man "themes. I occasionally see these knives with minimal bidding interest and I wonder if some folk tend to think that say Imperial Double Eagle 'The Frontier Series' -"the Blades of the TrailBlazers"..78/80+ were inferior knives or were perhaps made in Ireland, rather than USA. Imperial stated these were true 'working... Read more ..read more

Imperial Frontier Double Eagle Question

I have an Imperial Frontier 4435Double Eagle large stockman, that is/was a Homlelite advertising knife (possibly for the 410 Chainsaw, since that is the blade etch on the pile side of the clip point.) I don't know for sure, but suspect it was a "Free" with purchase" bonus, and may have been discounted without the purchase of an eligable Homelite tool. My knife has polished yellow brass bolsters, and Rosewood covers. QUESTION: 1) Did the Frontier Double Eagle series knives normally come... Read more ..read more

I'd like to know how many of you all have an Uncle Henry 77UH. Of those that do, does anyone have one in an official Schrade 77UH box. Or has anyone come up with one with the Uncle Henry shield. I have one with no shield or box, and the few I've seen on Ebay were like that. Here's an old thread that addressed the question in 2005. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376147&highlight=77uh ..read more

Schrade Walden serial numbers

Does anyone on this forum have access to S-W serial number records, or do they even exist? I'm specificly interested to know if the date of manufacture for a model 227UH, marked Schrade Walden Stainless and sporting the number 33423 on the liner can be determined from such records. I've figured out it must have been made between 1967 and 1973. This is my first post, these forums are a fascinating resource, thanks to all you folks efforts. VH ..read more

A Special 897UH Premium Stockman

Here is a very early 897UH as evidenced by it's serial stamped in the brass liner, 08887. While it isn't a salesman's sample, that serial places it in the very earliest production, first catalogued in 1967. If that alone wasn't special enough, it still resides in it's original hinged top gift box with price tag, loss warranty claim form and brochure. All three blades of this Schrade Walden knife are stamped "Stainless".No scratches or corrosion after 57 years, they don't come any nicer than... Read more ..read more
