CANADIAN with question about sending cards in ((Newbie))

I have been sending cards to COMC Canada, and then they go down to the USA Headquarters and I have been sending to be graded from there to CSG as its now a service that COMC provides for 'free.' Why I have never sent directly to CSG is because I dont know how the border works. Do I declare the cards as goods? Do I pay duty at the border for it to go to CSG? When they are done grading, do I pay duty on the cards coming back to Canada? (likely ((hopefully)) valuable)  Thanks in advance!  ..read more

Standard card returned in penny sleeve in oversized card case

Hello,   I just received back my first ever grading submission of 7 cards.  They all look great except for 1.  It is a standard sized card which was returned in an oversized card carrier and put into a penny sleeve so that it won't move around.  The issue is that the penny sleeve makes the card look warbled.  My question is if this is acceptable practice or should CSG (now CGC) be willing to change to a standard case?  Thank you ..read more

Sorry for double posting this. I want to make sure this gets inb the proper forum,  I had bought a sealed deck of 90 Topps. I started pulling cards and noticed one card was very thick. I pulled it out to see what was going on and it was the Griffey jr. Rookie card.  This is out of a sealed pack. Every other card was normal like any other deck. Was this a test run card that slipped by ??    One gentlemen on the the other forum said that it looked like the bottom of a wax box. I  do see a lot of people labeling a test run card as an error but I am hoping to get more ..read more

New to cards

New to this whole thing. I started buying cards about 6 months ago. I now have what I think is a lot, a couple thousand maybe. Obviously, I have several base in the mix, but have been buying higher dollar cards for the last few months. I have a few questions now: What should I use to track my cards? Is there a software that you use? If so, does it track value, and do you enter every card you have in it including base?  Second, how do I know if I should get a card graded or if it is even worth grading? Ultimately, I plan on listing and selling some of the cards with good value. I feel like ..read more
