I guess if I want these things, I need to get a better job--I just cannot compete. I saw this about 2-3 weeks ago and was hopeful that it might slide under the radar--slim chance in hell I suppose. I was interested in the fact the stock is an RV stock--but more interested in the manufacture, date, and the eagles. 1919 dated Izhevsks are pretty rare. The long rifles are more rare than the dragoon length--I've seen a few converted to 91/30s. I'm not sure if I've seen one that still... 1919 Izhevsk M91rv ..read more

Was just reading Matt’s book and saw that Simo Hayha’s issued m28/30 was serial number 35281. I have m/28/30 serial number 35216 so only 75 numbers away. Curious if anyone has one closer? Mine also still has the original m/28 front sight so it missed the update somehow. Also has a Viipuri CG number. Whatcha got ..read more

My question is did all m/91rv’s have unit discs in the stock? Mine does not and there is no patch where a disc would have been. The karabiner slot and front sling swivel cut outs look good to me. Just curious about the lack of a unit disc. What do you think? Here’s a few pics ..read more

Hi all! Following the recent thread regarding the SVT-40 sniper rifle that was sold by Simpsons a few days ago, I just thought I'd update you all with some photos as there seemed to be some interest. As many correctly guessed, this is not an original sniper rifle. Easiest way to tell that is simply by the fact that it is a 1941 Podolsk, who—along with Izhevsk—did not manufacture sniper rifles, with Tula/Mednogorsk being the only ones to officially produce such rifles. As I stated in the... More Photos of the Faux Sniper SVT-40 from Simpsons ..read more
