Here's the remnants of a Northstar propane lantern. Choose a part for $5 each, or BOGO. Make offer on whole pile. You pay shipping from 27539. Globe is cracked and probably will not survive the trip, but if you want to buy it I'll sell it and ship it and pack it best I can. Cage, vent, bail, knob and collar are all in good shape. Ignition and valve are untested, but it does turn and click, Vent nut is rusty. Burner is shot, likely . The bottom mantle mount has become dislodged, as has the vent post which is now stuck in the air tube. I'm not sure which parts are compatible with its liquid fuel ..read more

A non-functioning/partial lantern in a “user’s” hands is more likely to be trashed or junked than a fully functional lantern. I say you are doing your part by making it work. The pieces are there for you, or a future collector, to make a “correct” lantern at a later date and also helping to identify the parts. Parts in a working lantern are much easier to identify than being loose in a box as they are much more likely to be discarded as “junk”. I think that Frankenstein lanterns, although a bit different, do the same job of preserving parts for later instead the parts being trashed, or more l ..read more
