According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron on April 27, 2024, at approximately 6:30 pm multiple agencies including the Wayne County Sheriff Office, Wayne County Emergency Medical Service, Monticello Fire Department, Wayne County Search and Rescue, and Wayne County Coroner Office responded to a one-vehicle fatal vehicle accident located on West Kentucky Highway 92. According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Monticello man has been charged with damaging a Sheriff Office vehicle after being arrested. On April 27, 2024, Deputy Joe Horne along with Monticello Police Officer Josh Asberry responded to West Kentucky Highway 90 for a complaint of a male subject screaming and yelling while beating his hands on a vehicle. Run Report 4-28-2024 Monticello Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire off of Highway 200 at 9:09 PM. The fire involved a large barn but the fire department was able to stop the fire with moderate damage to the structure’s exterior. Wayne County Varsity Cardinals defeated Rockcastle County High School 9 to 1 on Saturday at Wayne County High School thanks in parts to five runs in the fourth inning.
