Members of the EF's Roman Catholic Church Working Group continue their work in support of visibility of LGBTI+ Catholics during the Synod, where Pope Francis is trying to bring the Church closer to the people. Being authentic is not always easy. In the past, it was even harder to be. For Ricardo, it took time to accept himself and be who he is. Growing up in church that meant a great deal to him, he learned that being gay is a sin. Of course, he isn't the only one. Many of us have experienced this kind of hardship. But many of us, just like Ricardo, have risen from the ashed, embraced who we are and are doing our best to live an authentic life. I'm talking to Pastor Ram who is gay and a non-binary person, who had to flee Uganda to save their life. They are continuing their work of raising awareness and helping LGBTIQ+ homeless people, refugees in East-African countries.
